Girardi's also a lot more consistent of a player than Staal.

He was 12th among centers in shots for crying our loud.

    Incidentally, Bergeron was 5th.

Because he has an absolutely putrid shooting percentage, and couldn't put the puck in a soccer net.

Its a pretty fluky stat. Richards was tied for second. For his career, he's also above 2x as many assists as goals.

Toews I'd entertain: Great leader, good in both directions, nifty with the puck. But not Cindy.

Bergeron is an outstanding 2-way player, the best face-off guy in the NHL (by a lot) and he can both dish and score.

Cindy can score goals but that's about it. He's pretty average defensively and implodes when it matters most. Bergeron (and Toews) step up their game in the playoffs.

    Also:

SH% is a luck-driven stat. It's fair to argue that some players are better than others at "creating" luck (maybe the hang out around the net, get a lot of shots, quick release, etc.) but the puck being thrown at the net is a random outcome in most cases.

I'm not a fan of Crosby just like pretty much everyone who's not a Penguins fan, but he's a great player. I think he's way more talented than Toews and Bergeron.

While we're on this discussion of NHL centers, I think Malkin is the most talented center in the NHL but he's too lazy to be considered the best center in the NHL. What he did when Crosby was out was better than anything Crosby's ever done.

Rough game tonight you know these a-holes want some redemption, especially in Montreal, I would have left Malone in

I would rank Malkin and Ovechkin as 1a and 1b, with Ovechkin being the best player in the NHL. However your are right on about malkin and what he did when Crosby was out, he put that team on his back and dominated the second part of that season.

While I give credit to Crosby for his offensive skill set, I think he is overrated as an all around player. He never fights for pucks in the corners, plays very little defense if any at times, and he has disappeared when his team needed him the most, turnovers at the worst possible time in the game because he is afraid of getting hit.

I would take Malkin over Crosby, no questions asked.

Crosby's got being Canadian going for him. Malkin's just as lazy and bad defensively as Crosby, but people say its because he's just a typical lazy, crazy talented Russian player. With Crosby, they just deny that its true.

Bad loss. The lines are not working and no one can win face-offs. At least Duclair played well.

Getting tired of John Moore, kudos to KK for sticking up for Zucc. PP is horrendous, McD of all people caught on 2 on none SH goal...Price played well but we made him look better with weak scoring chances

yeah didn't get any real abuse except a few people yelling from a car. If the Rangers showed up it would probably have been a different story. There was a row of NYR fans next to me and a few people up trying to get the lets go rangers chant going.

You guys are unbelievable... The same guys who are bitching and moaning about how we aren't scoring on the power play think that we have plenty of depth at center. Why aren't you all gushing about how awesome their possession ability was?
