As previously posted We will trail throughout...but keep score who is penalized less The Zebras will throw a flag deep into QTR 4 and we 1 point this one out Heartstoppin entertainment on deck fer Sunday Anyone know the Over/Under on Bowles standing with or without arms crossed chest tight??
I can't get on board with all of the negativity. Despite the 2-5 record, we still have a lot of good football players. The Browns don't. We probably have 5 or 6 players that are better than anyone on their roster aside from Haden. This is going to be our only easy win all season. 30-13 JETS
Joe Thomas is better than Haden.........but I agree with your main point. We do have more talent overall, however, I just can't get on board saying this will be "easy." Jets 23, Browns 17
Gailey says they are going to limit Fitz's passing and stick to running Forte as the focal point of offense. That should work well with Mangold in a walking boot. Of course, if we can't beat the Browns we won't beat anybody else.
Good.. Now the Browns will stack the box to negate Forte and force Fitz to pass. Look for a death match on Sunday.
If that's the case, then why wouldn't they just start Petty? He'll never get an easier or better chance to start...
A loss on Sunday might be the best thing for the team long term as the front office and coaches may stop making bad decisions (starting Fitz, etc.) in an effort to keep playoff hopes alive. Also, knowing the season is over before the deadline could give us the chance to get valuable draft picks for veteran players if we are fully committed to the youth movement. I think we win this one but it will not be as easy as advertised.
The two main components keeping the Jets "playoff hopes" alive is their defense we saw the last two quarters vs the Ravens, and their running game. Another thing that helps them offensively is the play of their younger receivers. Enunwa has been a huge bright spot for the Jets this season, and Anderson is starting to come on as well. Whenever Bryce Petty is ready to play the Jets should start him no matter what their record is. Bottom line the Jets will NEVER get to the playoffs with Fitzpatrick continuing to be the starter... Even if we did somehow luck into a wild card spot, we'd lose with Fitzpatrick as our starter. Let's find out what we got in Petty.
The Jets SHOULD win this game, even with all the problems & injuries. Cleveland has no offensive pass protection, they are third in sacks allowed (that's also partly due to poor QB play). They are seventh in rushing, but tied for first in rushing fumbles. McCown can play, as you can see if you watch the 2nd game against Baltimore, but he gets pounded, his own teammate said: "I'd go to war with that guy anytime," Browns guard John Greco said of McCown. "That guy gets the (stuff) knocked out of him seven, eight times a game, keeps getting up and making throws." They put up 20 points in a hurry against Bal, but McCown got hurt the play before his last td pass and then they scored nothing. However, Cleveland doesn't have much of a rush or pass defense, near the bottom of the league in both categories. The only thing they have going for them is they can shut down the edges with their cb's, but the middle of the field and the run game are wide open. All that said, Cleveland's had a lot of bad luck this year. 5 of their 7 games have been on the road. McCown got hurt in the Baltimore game at home, and their second home game was against the Pats, Kessler got knocked out in that one in the first half and then Terrelle Pryor (!) and then Charlie Whitehurst played QB for them. I think they are a bit better than their record shows, and it would be wise to take them seriously. Ron
Yawn. There's not much to get excited about in this game. We will focus on the run game and not ask Fitz to do do much, because even though he's making $12 million, he can't operate an NFL offense. The Browns will put 8 in the box and dare Fitz to beat them. Hayden will play Marshall tough, which should open up things for Q and the other WRs. Hopefully, our D can build on the momentum from last week, but I see us having a tough time with Terrelle Pryor if he plays as we have no one who can cover him. It will be a close game. Jets 19-16.
I'll be on the Ocean Explorer chasing Sea Bass on Sunday. I'll set the DVR to record it and I'll catch it later in the evening.
