I have to say -- at risk of likely flames? -- that, judging from what I've seen on this board for 2.5 months, I think he's got his characterization of week-to-week emotions about right. I've lived in both Green Bay and St. Louis, and fans there are nothing like you guys in their manic-depressiveness ....

Peter King hates the Jets and Jets fans. He is right on this one, but still a giant pile of recycled tacos.

He's correct, but anytime he can knock the city that embarrasses and diminishes the state in which he grew up in he will.

WTH, when did he write that? 30 years ago? First 4 offseasons? $8500/year? WTF. It would be just like King to do that.

NM..I just figured out what King was trying to say. Leaving a sentence or two out to shorten it gave it a whole new meaning.

I would imagine all NFL fans are up and down with the success or failure of their team. Less than a year ago, Giants fans were calling for Coughlin to be fired and Eli to be benched. Now they're the greatest coach and QB around. It's the nature of being a football fan.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we play pretty well on week and then horribly the next . . .

I think that's New York in general. You listen to the radio and the Mets and Yankees are playing "must win" games in May.

Yea...it's a product of so many things.

Remember that thread where a Buffallo newspaper broke down what went on the play where Revis sacked Edwards and forced the fumble?

Know what that play would be in NY? A sign that that coaching staff is incompetent, a knock against the teams toughness, and w/e other character knock that can be found. We would have been hit with many articles about how that play epitomized...iunno...something...inconsistency...lack of discipline...dedication...something "significant."

And all it was was a bad play.

    No, they're not like you.

    Really.

Taking the Giants as the example that every place else is like NY does not make a lot of sense ...

In Green Bay we take our football seriously, but we don't need to go on Prozac or jump off the local 8 story "skyscraper" :) because we're 4-4 right now. In st. Louis they just don't take it very seriously, period, IMO (though who can blame them, the suffered through the Cards then got dumped by them, then had to bribe the Rams to come take their place).

But the Giants, yeah. Last year on some NY forum people were going on and on and ON about how terrible Manning was, etc, and it was left to me (a fan of a team they had just played and lost to) to step in and defend them and say "hey, your team is actually better than you're giving them credit for, I think it was just a bad game" Even the week before the NFC championship game, "fans" could not let up their ridicule of Manning. Sheez! I'm starting to figure out that there will be "fans" that run down Favre even if the Jets go 10-0 the rest of the way, it just seems to be what you guys in NY do?

I'm not sure what you are saying here. I didn't leave any sentences out. Here's the link to original if you want to check yourself. http://www.fannation.com/peter_king_challenge/peter_king

Worse is that he predicts 16 points? At home vs. the Rams? I did not realize the fearsome foursome was coming back.

Pudd, what you need to realize that if people who support NY teams or live in NY act differently after a loss...you know...like a loss is a loss but you'll probably survive, move on, and learn from it...you're a "homer."

It's black or white here. Win or lose.

Until it's not...it's really confusing like that.

Hes not correct at all, yes we do these things but we certainly arent the only ones. Go check out the Bills board after their loss to us. They are just as bad if not worse.

Who cares if he is right or wrong. Jets fans are passionate and since when did that become a problem? I would certainly take that any day over Atlanta or Arizona fans. Fuck him. I spent several years in both of those states and would be embarrassed to be one of their fans. Atlanta hosted the NFC championship game a few years back and had 20,000 unsold seats. Arizona has that every week.

FU PK What kind of a fan doesn't get fired up after a win and get bummed after a loss. Just because you can't find these emotions in your life don't give us shit for doing it!:mad::mad:
