This is a trap game. Heres what the Jets need to do. RUN THE FOOTBALL. Run the ball and control the clock. This team cant stop the run or the pass. They like to play fast so we should slow down the pace.
Run the ball 35+ times and throw in some nice play action passes and we shouldn't have to worry too much about this game. The only thing I'm at all concerned about is Denver coming out with a lot of intensity, scoring some points early, we turn the ball over and give them confidence. If that doesn't happen, we should be fine.
i hate this match up for our d. the broncos already know they cant run so they arent going to waste any time trying to establish it. we will see them spread the field out all game. im hoping we have some nice blitz packages ready for this game. rushing 4 and playing coverage will lead to a very frusterating day defensively for us., on the positive side we should be able to do whatever we feel like on offense. this has the potential to be a high scoring shootout. i dont think we can lose the turnover battle and still win like in tennesee.
I am always worried about every Jets opponnet, but Every time I see the Broncos, its a Cutler pass attempt to Marshall. I mean all the time, whether he is open or not. We should be able to pound them with the run and the short passing game eating chunks of time
I felt like you until yesterday. Now there isn't a team in the AFC that bothers me at all. Of course Mangini could get crazy. He tried to yesterday for about 5 minutes and then I swear somebody must have bitch slapped him back into reality and they started playing defense again like they had the whole game.
every game is a trap game, if your not winning, your losing. plain and simple. bronco's wr's are very talented but the running game is redzone only with their playcalling last few games. the broncos are more than capable of scoring at least 21 points but if we can put up 34 on the titans in Tenn, i think we can demoralize and demolish their defense. we have been a different team since losing in OT to the Raiders in Oakland. the broncos will be a week removed from a 34-10 loss to the Raiders in Denver. and im not buying into some desparation crap about the broncos being 6-5 so theyre dangerous. theyve just proven to be inconsistent and to have a consistently bad defense. hell the chargers at 4-7 might still be in the playoff hunt cause theyre in the same division as a slipping broncos team. i respect jay cutler and their young WR's. thats it. mind you guys if the playcalling is as good as its been last couple weeks we will manhandle this team. interesting facts. after sunday the jets are 9-0 when jones scores a TD. and the titans are the fifth team we held to 50 or less rushing yards. which means our ground game has been very good at tiring defenses and we force teams into one dimmension. which is why our pass defense is statistically misleading. i guaranteed my friends and coworkers wed beat the titans just because i saw it as a statement game and the only real test the titans had were against a battered Jax and a weak early year IND team. and as long as we win the turnover battle, i see us winning this one convincingly. i think the only reason this game scares people is the respect most fans have for cutler and the fact we pretty much force teams into airing it out. the broncos o-line isnt nearly as good as the titans. i expect cutler to get knocked around and flustered. and their d-line is a speedbump compared to the pats or titans. seriously. our most impressive wins have been evident in the trenches and i dont expect the trend to change this sunday.
If we stay with the blueprint we established with NE and used to near perfection with the Titans we should win against Denver running away.
We need to watch out for rookie WR Eddie Royal. During this season, Eddie either has a huge game, or is irrelevant.
Hey, this game could be great, or denver can get blown out. It dpeends on what Jay Cutler shows up. The guy who looks like the next Favre, or the guy who looks lost. See, Denver has always been able to run it under shanahan, but it's that passing game that starts to put all the points on the board. When they have looked bad this year, it was when Cutler played like crap. So, they could rise up. Denver isn't like playing the rams, there a team that can do some things.
Very true. We should do to the Broncos exactly what we did against the Pats. Use Ty Law and Rhodes to double up on their top deep threat (Marshall) and have Revis cover their top possession guy (Royal). That will leave Lowery to cover Scheffler or whatever nobody they have at WR3.
not jumping far ahead but beating denver should have us at least clinch a wild card spot, maybe wishful thinking.
I think the skeptics are concerned with the way Denver's strength can challenge the Jets pass D. It's a legitimate concern. Enough to mean the Jets lose? Probably not. Jets will have to kill themselves to lose this one, imo.
I'm scared because they just lost to the Raiders, look what happened to us after we lost to the Raiders..hmy:hmy:hmy:
The Jets will win this game because I think the coaches have finally embraced the run. They got over the hype of having Favre and wanting to throw it 40 times a game. Thomas Jones has been a freak and Leon Washington is the ultimate X-factor. Denver is sputtering right now and I dont believe they have the leadership to break out of it.
i think we'll win, should be a good game though i'd be a little more scared if it were an away game shanahan is a good coach though, i would never count his team out of any game games against above 500 teams shouldn't be called trap games
Every game against a team not as good as us is proclaimed as a "trap game." We handled the Chiefs, Benglas, Rams, and then two really good teams in NE and Tenn since we lost to the Raiders. They will be ready. They likely will smack the crap out of them. But then again, thats why they play the game. Im obviously blabbing. Carry on....
