trent dilfer is very fair on the QB mark. but i don't think Kiper is right about Percy Harvin being our pick(i hope)

Percy Harvin is a terrible draft pick.

Yeah, I'll be seriously disappointed if Harvin is the pick. I highly doubt Kiper's right about that one, though. Our FO doesn't quite strike me as a cadre of morons.

Kiper on Mike Williams, "I'll see you at his Hall of Fame induction."

The guy is an idiot. If we pick a WR it should be Britt or Maclin in the unlikely event that he falls that far(won't happen if Al Davis is still fucking insane). If we go DE I would much rather have Gilbert than Jackson. We don't need to get a QB this season.

If I had to guess, I would say it's Maple as opposed to Oak...

please get off this Gilbert stuff. EVERYTHING I have seen is he is a mid 2nd to 3rd round pick. The guy is a great athlete with little production. I even heard drafting him in the 2nd would be a high as he's only getting pushed up because he is one of the few 3-4 ends.

Nine sacks in 2008 from the defensive tackle position is not what I'd call "little production."

True, the guy is quite smart about his hair. I heard he even bought waterfront property just to ease the delivery of his hair product.

Gilbert is the only guy I'd trade up for, and that follows the proposition of Maclin being available at #17.

If we take Maclin at 17, I'd be perfectly happy losing our 4th to grab Gilbert earlier in the 2nd.

....He was the WAC DPOY last year and decimated people at the East/West Shrine game. You're really underrating this guy's college production.

I can see how Ryan wants to run the ball more, subtracting their need for a star QB. We have two pretty good RBs who can each break open a game with just one play. I'm not a fan of grabbing Harvin here at 17, if we don't go with a QB, I'd kinda want to trade down and snag Vonte Davis. Sheppard won't be here next year and we need someone to play with Revis.

Today I'm really not sure where I would go. I like Mel Kiper, always have. I respect his mocks highly and this here just makes me stop and want to re-evaluate the whole situation.

At this point I'd certainly agree that Davis and Sean Smith are probably darkhorses for #17, although I think with Sheppard it could end up going like Vilma and the Saints went this year; cut him and then resign him after FA starts.

I don't know that we'll be able to trade down, although Minnesota would be a compelling case if Sanchez is still there at #17. In that situation, absolutely trade down. Either way, Davis very well could be the pick in the first round, and he'd be a good one.

I honestly think we will trade down as I think we will pick Britt at end of rnd 1 and oick an extra 3rd rounder up.
