I see a lot of people here and all over the place having us select Maclin in the draft.

Im pretty sure Leon can catch a ball. I know he can run it when he is given the chance. Return kicks, sure he can.

What is the big draw to Maclin when we have Washington already on the team?

two are always better then one, unless were talking about something like cold sores.

BTW, the similarities end with both of them being return men.

Maclin is more the deep threat, field stretching taller WR this team has been missing since Keyshawn was exiled.

There you go...You FINALLY admited it.

Leon Washington and Percy Harvin would be the perfect combo on the field. They can both do it all as WR's and RB's.

Two are always better then one...You admitted it.

And Maclin will be off the board by 17

How tall exactly is Maclin? How much did he bench @ the combine, how high did he jump and what was his 40 time?

Who said anything about Harvin? I was talking about return men. Please, go back to the hole you crawled out of.

Because when Jones leaves we're gonna need another big RB. Washington and Maclin together would be perfect.

    Espn has him at 6-1/200.

Nothing on the bench press but I'm thinking as a WR, that's a stat that's not crucial.

Maclin can fill our hole at #1 WR. Leon, and Harvin for that matter, do not. Different skill sets, different usage.

Combine numbers don't tell the whole story, or even half of it, TBJF. Even you should know that.

    Percy Harvin vs Jeremy Maclin.

Percy Harvin played in the SEC, so that means he has played against tougher opponents on the defensive side of the ball because SEC D's run shit @ the college level.

Percy Harvin is listed @ 5'11
Jeremy Maclin is listed @ 6'0

Percy Harvin is listed as weighing 192
Jeremy Maclin is listed as weighing 198

Percy Harvin ran the 40 with a time of 4.41
Jeremy Maclin ran the 40 with a time of 4.45

Percy Harvin benched 225 19 times (REALLY Impressive)
Jeremy Maclin wouldnt attement the bench press.

Percy Harvin ran put up a time of 4.12 in the shuttle
Jeremy Maclin wouldnt attement the shuttle drill

I cant believe people on this site are cracking Maclin up to be this big, tall, strong WR...When he's not. I would take Harvin based on the fact that he's done great things @ the college level in a TOUGH SEC Conf which is known for Elite D's. Harvin is also kicking Maclin's ass @ the combine as far as skill goes.

I know that, I'm just busting balls because Maclin is listed as 6'0, Harvin is listed as 5'11... If Maclin can be a future #1 based on talent alone, then so can Harvin.

Using size and measurables to determine if they could be a #1 WR is pointless. Im 6'1, 195. I guess I can be the #1 for the Jets too. Finally that big money paycheck I wanted.

This is a pretty bold statement to make on Harvin, being that he has never had a single carry in the NFL. Running the ball in a Florida gimmick system, when every other player on florida is a weapon, is much different then running the ball in the NFL. Leon washington can not do it all as a wide receiver, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Just because Leon has nice hands for a running back, hardly says he can do it all as a wide receiver.

    Attement? Huh?

I'm in an airport on my iPhone. Can't fight right now. Please check one of the other 800 threads on this. Harvin is shorter than his listed height. Maclin is taller than 6'0". Suited for different positions. Harvin leaves us with a hole outside. I'd rather take a different position at 17 if he is the best receiver on the board and grab Louis Murphy later. It's about balancing need with value. Harvin is much more valuable to another team.

No. Both can be successful in the NFL based on talent. They won't be used in the same way. Like I said, a team like Minnesota would get the most out of Harvin. I hope he does well, but I want my team to get the most value out of its picks.

could you please fuck off with the Harvin talk.....that's all you do....you could take a thread about Betty Crocker chocolate cake and somehow turn into a thread about Percy fucking Harvin.

Enough already.....we GET IT....you love Harvin....

As far as Maclin goes....there's a chance he'll drop to us...if he makes it past the Bengals and the Raiders in the top 10....and I would be in my glory if we selected him. I'm not really sure where Leon Washington fits into the conversation because he's a HB. Unless we're talking Maclin being a potential KR for the Jets.

I don't know how well he blocks, but we would likely put him back there with Leon, especially if we are trying to trade Brad Smith.
