Yeah, very sad. Whats worse is that Sportscenter went from Brett Favre to Plaxico Burress to Shaq on Raw and didn't mention Johnson's death. Terrible.

Holy shit! That's terrible. He was one of my favorite coaches in the league, even though he was an Eagles coach.

Controversy and divahood sell...quiet hard work and a smooth exit do not. Sad indeed.

Wow. Sad that he had to go, but I know someone in the death poll is out to an early lead.

Hahahaha that is the best reaction only a few minutes after his death.

In other news, this is why I hate ESPN and Bret Favre, equally. Favre for being the prick he is, and ESPN for giving news on him so much favor.

Tragic. He was the epitome of what a DC is supposed to be.

I don't even watch ESPN anymore except for drag racing. It's so totally useless.

The way the Eagles handled the situation told you everything you needed to know about the man. They kept the job officially in his hands until it was absolutely clear he wouldn't be returning. Hell of a coach, hell of a person.

And yes, RichMiano just took the early lead. Late 5th rounder.

Wow, that is a shock, didn't realize that the cancer was that advanced. RIP. Eagles will miss a quality part of their organization. An Eagle forever.

Great coach - I think we'd all love it if the Jets defense blitzed as much as Johnson's defenses did. RIP.

Thanks for creating Steve Spagnuolo, Jim. Also for head coaching my Madden 06 team to a few Super Bowl titles.

He was in the league this year, too. He took a leave of absence on May 18.

    RIP Jim Johnson.

That's a real shame, he was one of the best defensive minds that I've ever seen. I've always admired those Eagle defenses, even though I hate the team as a whole. RIP.
