    ugh...

Cimini reports that Jenkins left the field witha leg injury. Says he left under his own power (which doesn't sound bad), but limping. Hopefully this is nothing serious, obviously.

Damn, even if it?s nothing serious, it sucks to see him battle Injuries that early, we need him healty. Losing him would hurt this team more, than losing any other player.

They say he is laying in the trainers tent, lying on his stomach, with his left calf wrapped. Pray he didn't tear it.

did anyone get any reports on what he was doing when the injury occured?

anything leg related on a guy that big is a problem. even if he cant practice for a week its going to put him so far behind in his conditioning. hopefully its cramps :)

He's a 9 year vet. Let him ride a stationary bike all preseason. Were his weigh in incentives just last year or the life of his contract?

Big guys with leg injuries are notoriously bad at healing, unless the fridge is next to the bed

A man that size leaving of his own power generally means it's not a tear. Hopefully he's just cramping up or pulled something.

yes, but unless it is a tear he has plenty of time to get it feeling better. it isn't good but until i hear something else i am not going to get freaked out about it. the season is just getting underway i can't bring myself to be thinking negatively about anything yet.

i put a smiley after the cramps comment because i have never seen cramps treated with limping off the field followed by ice in trainers room. cramps will typically be treated with stretching immediately and fluid intake if going to the training room if necessary.

that makes me think its some sort of muscle issue more than a cramp.

the problem with him missing time has nothing to do with whether he will be healthy for the first game its more to do with his conditioning. granted these guys come into camp in great shape now but its a different shape than when you are actually playing. a big guy like that losing a couple days of conditioning can be a real problem.

    hopefully all is well.

just saw the update on the frontpage. very nice work petro on the injury report and pictures. i sure do wish you had pictures of it occuring :)

i dont twit or tweet or whatever its called so i have to wait for someone to post it the old fashioned way.

imagine when we used to have to wait for the NEWSPAPER reports! how did we survive :)

We need another big man, Jenkins is definitley going to get hurt throughout the course of the season.(considering this injury doesn't effect his season) Its real hard for huge men not get hurt out there and he gets injured every season anyway. Its crucial for the jets to get a body, anyone over 340 pounds.

Well, I didn't anticipate him to get injured, as you can imagine. it was just a regular running play. I think he just twisted it.
