Sox trade Lowell to Texas for Max Ramirez http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/...ss&source=twitter&ex_cid=Twitter_espn_4730311
The Boston Red Sox have reached a preliminary agreement to trade third baseman Mike Lowell to the Texas Rangers for catcher Max Ramirez, sources told ESPN. The Red Sox will pay $9 million of Lowell's $12 million salary. I don't understand why they're paying 70% of his salary. He was injured all last year, and now we need to find another bat option. Was getting the $3 million back THAT important?
The Phillies & Angels make offers for Halladay I hope he gets dealt out of the division http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=301796
JA Happ + Dominic Brown would be a steal of epic proportions. Well, Happ should regress slightly, but that's certainly better than the turds Anaheim is offering up.
Heard on WFAN that Lackey is undergoing a physical for the Red Sox, indicating that a contract signing could be imminent. Rumor is that it's similar to Burnett's.
Reports say Lackey is taking a physical with the red sox right now. as per 1050 espn radio.he is seeking 5 years 82 million. if so they will in turn trade a couple of prospests to the padres for adrian gonzolez http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/john-lackey-rumors-monday-1.html
According to Heyman, a 3-way deal has been agreed to between Phils/Blue Jays/ Mariners. Halladay to Philly, Cliff Lee to the Mariners!!! More details pending. WTF? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...phillies.halladay.lee/index.html?eref=BrkNews
oooooh god the Mets are screwed.... even if we get Bay, it won't be enough to compete with Philly for the next 3+ years.. (yelling expletives out my apartment window)
If Lee has been traded (Phillies rather pay for Halladay then pay big for Lee), they literally are replacing an ace with an ace. Mariners would have a great combo in Lee/King Felix.
ooooohh...the Phillies have some sweet prospects....i'm hoping the Phillies finally broke down and included Kyle Drabek in the deal. Cliff Lee and Felix Hernandez....that rotation is shaping up nicely in Seattle.
