First of all, awesome site - THE place I go to get my jets fix. My idea - This would definitely require some programming, but what I would love to see is a "like" feature, ala facebook comments, for a thread - signifying the reader liked the posters commentary, and a way to either sort the forum for that, or maybe as part of the front-page top-comment showing area. Many threads I read, if its one where I really enjoyed the posters take on the topic, I notice have quite a few "great post" type posts - It would be awesome if I could know people thought it was a great post specifically, not so much because it got a lot of feedback in comment form - as in many cases, thats turned into some sort of flame-fest. The commentary by other jet fans like me is one of the greatest parts about this site, and this would be a way to be able to hone in on the great stuff quickly Just a thought on a rainy saturday pcmodem
If you could do it without a list of names of all the people that liked it I think it would be pretty cool.
no offense but Finheaven has something similar to that and the last thing I want this site to be like is Finheaven. I vote no for this new feature.
I think if you start a thread...and it hits 500 posts (stipulation: you can't post in your own thread 500 times...discretion would be given from the mods)......TGG automatically dispenses an online 99 cent appetizer coupon from Applebees....and PMs you a link to the coupon.
You will find out fast if your post is liked or disliked, as was already posted keep that FB and Twitter crap off the TGG.
Here's my list for ganggreen: 1) Do some interviews on fans and post them on your website 2) Do a broadcast show for half time show: read some interesting threads from the forum.. etc. 3) Trade/Sell for jets collectibles 4) Do a contest for best jet fan design. 5) let jet fans to post their pictures about the game they went to or jets player they met... etc. 6) let fans post their 30 sec short video about their view on the game or jets related and others can comment on their video.
Are you willing to do any of that or you're just saying what you think I should do? This is not my job by any means, this is just a hobby that I can spend less and less time on as my life goes on. I started this while still in college with a lot of spare time on my hands. Now, almost 10 years later, I have a full time job, family, etc. So, in order to add more features, especially those that require going places, I need people to contribute....
