    Uhhhh...there's a draft forum.

Taylor Mays is ridiculously fast. I figured he'd run in the 4.3s...4.24 unofficially is a bit surprising.

The kid still doesn't have a playmaking bone in his body.

We all knew he was a freak, maybe not sub 4.3 freak but still. Hes still the same player he was before he ran.

Only took 45 minutes to create a thread on this guy after his 40...

    Welcome to the offseason...

You weren't suggesting the Jets getting him now (hence placing the thread in the Jets forum) were you? I think you were...

I don't know shit about college football, but after reading a scouting report he sounds like the safety version of Gholston.

I think he'll be a very good in the box safety, but his coverage ability will never be good.

He'll definitely get over drafted because of his workout.

It's worse then that. I seriously can't see this guy going early in this draft to anyone else besides the Raiders. He's that bad. Unless you plan for the opposing team to ONLY run on you, he will be a bust.

Hey come on now, the dude can ball. Is he not very good in coverage? Obviously. He mistimes balls, takes bad angles, and doesn't cover a lot of field. But the man is one of the hardest hitters Ive seen. Being the athlete that he is can sometimes make up for the fact that he'll take a bad angle. He will be a good S in the NFL, IMO.

Who the hell is timing these guys?

    4.24 to 4.43 is a huge mistake.

For his sake, I hope he is good in the NFL. I doubt it.

He is probably one of the best athletes, if not thee best athelete in this draft. He is a freak, a guy Al Davis will be drooling over. No question. That doesn't translate very well into the NFL though, just look at our very own "physical freak".

He has no ball skills, terrible hands, awful in coverage, and his football technique is probably the worst of almost all the safeties in this draft. IMO.

My point.. Good measurables doesn't mean shit in the NFL, if you don't have any game on Sunday's.

I see what youre saying. But he definitely had game on Saturdays. He had a role and he played it well. We'll have to wait and see if he does have game on Sundays.

Eisen and Mayock commented on the mistakes the unoffical timers have made this week.

that kind of difference means too much in this league.

Darnell Bing 2.0. Now with increased speed to help your defense fail twice as quickly!

As someone else said, he had a role, Darnell Bing's role, and Bing went undrafted. I'd argue that Bing was even better during his best days at SC than Mays has been.

The problem with Taylor is that he just doesn't know what he's doing half the time. Anything that's not run and hit and he's in trouble.

IMO, here's May's problem....his brain isn't wired to make his body react to make plays.

Awesome athlete.....it doesn't translate to the game.
