This is a fucking joke. Diamondbacks get guys on base every inning, we can't even get a base runner. I can't believe how stupid I am to be up right now. And I have a million things to do tomorrow.

Bobby O just ripping into Manuel and his wishy-washy managing. Good. I hope those two assholes that run this team are listening. It's not too late to save this season.

    ahem

    Bobby V. anybody?

Fine. It goes right down the hatch. You cannot chew it when it is that old. Two months ago I bought a pack of 1983 football cards. The gum in that pack was good, too.

Great series by Bay and Davis 1 for 22 between the two of them with 11 Ks.... Poor Ike they love him in AZ. Interviewed his mother who was clearly not somebody who looked comfortable on TV and they just kept asking her questions and you could tell how nervous she was. Wonderful series getting swept by one of the worst teams in baseball who haven't swept a series since July of last season.

How inept foes this lineup have to get before we sign some hitting power.

Its not the pitching thats costing us its the batting on a constant basis yet all you hear about is pitching.

Bay is an absolute joke and is up there with our worst signings, $60 million....jesus wept!

Time to blow this team up. Trade anyone that can be traded. First Minaya and Manuel. Hope the Wilpons go broke and have to sell the team.

Call me stupid, I still think this team could respond to another manager. Their style of play reflects the way and the demeanor of how they're managed.

My only solace is that, I went into the season with NO expectations...

And even with their better than expected performance in the first half, I always waited for the other shoe to drop, and here it is. Except it wasn't a shoe that dropped it was a fucking piano.

At the allstar break I predicted a 3-8 road trip...I doubt we even see that.

1-6 right now? The only saving grace is that the Dodgers are probably the only NL team that is playing worse then us. Nobody ends a losing streak like the NY Mets....

Your right though, I had no expectations for this team but I was expecting better out of guys like Bay and Frenchy. Pelfrey was a nice early surprise but he appears to be nearing the end and Pagan has been a very good player for us. I actually think Pagan can be an everyday player for us but he can't be asked to carry the team. Wright seems to have found his power but when asked to come up with a big hit he seems to be invisable. Our starting pitching has been better then expected and Dickey has to be considered for come back player of the year.

Last night was the first time in a while (years) I went to sleep before a game ended, good thing for me.

Why does Russell Martin's jersey say J. Martin?

It's to honor his mom whose surname begins with J. That same name is one of Martin's middle names.

And the Mets blow yet another situation with a man on third and less than two outs. This team is truly pathetic.

What a surprise - another excellent job by a starter completely wasted (well, I guess the fact that it was Takahashi is a surprise).

To be honest, I doubt that a managerial change at this point would make any difference, but I am of course all in favor of it, since it should have happened a year ago.

Lefties are 0/32 this year against Kuo, so naturally Jerry doesn't pinch hit for Davis as the tying run at the plate in the 9th. I'm sure he was shocked by the strikeout that followed.

Edit: this should be in a separate thread, but really, who gives a damn? Game over, 1-7 on the trip and counting.
