First off I'm no darksider, so lets get that BS out of the way. But just about every team, especially one lead by a 2nd year QB who has little college experience is going to go through a rough spot or two during the season. We are all very confident in our team now, some of us cautiously, some of us overly. Regardless I'd bet there aren't too many games on our schedule that any of us feel like we SHOULD lose. Many of them will wind up being very close and would probably be toss-ups if you had to pick it before hand. In any case with what we've seen from our team over the last few weeks, or at least I can speak for myself, I'm starting to take on the personality of our coach. Realistically we know we're not gonna win every game, but that doesn't mean we're not going into every game expecting to win. Therefore which game(s) stick out to you as potential bumps in the road on the way to what we hope is a deep playoff run? For me it's the Denver game. Yes there are much tougher opponents later in the season (@Pittsburgh, @NE, etc.) but the Denver game sticks out to me. On paper we should beat the Broncos handily. And I'm sure a lot of the replies I'll get in this thread are gonna be "Are you crazy? We're gonna destroy the Broncos." In any case, we'll be coming off a short week and going into Mile High and that high altitude with a bye week ahead of us. It just seems to me like that potential game we could lose that would have no business losing and many of those negative threads will pop up in here again.
steelers. They play tough D and big ben will be back and into a groove by then. Also cant sleep on packers and at patriots. Other then that I think we are favorites to win by a lot.
Historically we don't play well in Denver & Pitt, @ NE always tough game. Call me crazy if you want, but the @ Det game is not gonna be the cupcake everybody thinks.
I agree with all of those games except Detroit. NE will be as tough a game as we play this year because the Patriots HAVE to win that game no matter what else happens to them. Motown is still too young to threaten us but they do have enough to make us just a bit uncomfortable IF we take them too lightly.
When will the fans jump on with the team and the head coach? This thread sucks. By the way, I see no one in the Jets way but themselves. Also, the OP says he is taking on Rex's personality, did you read the thread you just made?
Yea if we lose to detroit it will be a disaster imo. They have 1 good receiver in Calvin Johnson and if Revis is back to his former self hes a non factor. Their defense is awful.
i'm curious to see how we do against Gb with their sick receiving core (finely at TE, Driver, jennings, and jones at WR) and Rodgers at QB. I Think we play them on thanksgiving
Minnesota could be a bump in the road. Their defense is playing very well so far and Adrian Peterson could run wild on us. Not that either or both of those things are happening but I see the game as a huge trap right now given where things stand.
The Jets are 7-9 all-time in regular season action at Denver (that includes a 2-1 mark as the Titans). That is a winning percentage of .438 which isn't too bad when you consider all other Broncos opponents have combined to win at a clip of .352 when playing in Denver.
Pittsburg and Denver certainly can prove to be challenges, but I also feel like @ Chicago can be a challenge. Second to last game in the season playing at Chicago is never an easy game for any team. Also, dont mean to be a downer but if the Jets are to lose to any "bad" team this season, it will probably be @Cleveland.
We're on a message board, trying to pass the time. We can't have only threads praising everything this team does. Only way to keep it interesting is to spark up some different kinds of discussions. I'm so sick of everytime someone posts any thread that can be construed as negative people go "This is not the same old Jets, this thread sucks, grow some f*cking balls."
There is just no need for it right now. The team is great and very positive. In my opinion, there are no give me games. The Jets will have to play well to beat Minnesota, or Denver or Detroit or Cleveland or Pittsburgh etc. If they do play well, they will not lose. The defense hasn't even played near its full potential yet. The offense either. That is scary.
minnesota, 1 game @ a time, the next opponent is ALWAYS the toughest...this IS the NFL...ANY GIVEN SUNDAY!!!
Yeah, it concerns me that everyone's taking this Monday's game for granted. The Vikings have two weeks to prepare and one of the best players in football.
