That's what happens when you go airborne on a field that is pretty much concrete.

no, I didn't hear any names

it was just "QBs making their first playoff start are..."

must've been in the past X amount of years

We're off to a rocking start here.

Three minutes played, then the Carlson injury, causing a 10 minute delay.

I saw a graphic earlier on Fox comparing active first round quarterbacks in the playoffs.

Vince Young, Mark Sanchez, Joe Flacco, Jay Cutler, and Matt Ryan were brought up. I don't know why they didn't include Aaron Rodgers too.

I just searched Jay Cutler and it seems others are making the same comparison.

    http://articles.chicagotribune.com/...omparison-20110113_1_jay-cutler-bears-bad-rex

The perception is that Jay Cutler is a far superior quarterback to Rex Grossman, but the reality is that their performances in the Bears' last two playoff seasons were pretty similar.

They both threw 23 touchdown passes. Grossman threw four more interceptions, and they both passed for close to 3,200 yards. Two things separated them: Cutler was sacked 30 more times, and he still had a completion percentage that was considerably better than Grossman's — 60.4 to 54.6.

"A lot of people are a lot more excited about Jay Cutler than they ever were about Rex Grossman, but statistically, they are not as different as a lot of people would think, at least when you compare those two seasons," Biggs said.

Both quarterbacks could be defined by their highs and lows. As Grossman was referred to as "Good Rex, Bad Rex," Cutler has been called, "Good Jay, Bad Jay."

Grossman had seven games in which his passer rating was better than 100 but five games in which his passer rating was below 40. Cutler had six games with a passer rating of better than 100, but he also had four when it was below 55.

"Bears fans are concerned about the inconsistency Jay has shown," Mitchell said. "Back in 2006, Rex Grossman was wildly inconsistent. I think he even had a passer rating one game that was 'Animal House'-like — 0.00. He had some great games, and he had some horrible games back in 2006."

Whereas Grossman may have played his best football in the first half of the 2006 season with standout performances against the Lions and 49ers, Cutler came alive late in the season, saving his best for the Eagles, Lions, Vikings and Jets.

"People forget in the first six games of 2006, Rex was playing at an MVP level," Haugh said. "That was unexpected. We thought he had that kind of high ceiling, but the way he played in the first six games is a little reminiscent of the way Cutler played in the second half."

    Exactly.
