Sorry that I made this a new thread with all of the other Braylon threads already out there, but IMO this deserves its own thread. This video took the cake for me. I want Braylon on this team. And its not because he was willing to donate all this money to these kids, but the fact that after leaving Cleveland he still kept to his word says something to me. I understand that this charity work might not mean anything to most people (Rich people do it as a tax writeoff) and might not have meant anything to him when he first went out to do this, but keeping your word especially to those in need, and in a time where he could have just been like F*ck them I'm moving to New York speaks volume about Character. Football is about being a part of something bigger than yourself. Blocking hard on a run play, running your routes 100% even if the ball isn't coming to you. Holding yourself accountable for your mistakes and not blaming others. Putting in that extra work to become great Many of you might not see the connection here but I hope some of you will. Anyway check out this video. The ending is truly great and inspiring. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/29607/video-braylon-edwards-grabs-college-tab
it has been posted many a time, as a myriad of articles were written about this when Braylon first announced it on twitter some time ago. that said the video is new, and just compounds the greatness of this story.
Yes it is a nice thing he did....this was actually posted a few weeks back. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=66206&highlight=braylon
I'm a big Braylon Edwards fan. I sure hope we re-sign this guy. I'd love to have him be a Jet long-term.
100 kids? Do they say what the maximum amount is for each kid? Does this cover all 4 years? Just curious.
I have that same feeling, junc. I think the Lions might throw the financial kitchen sink at Braylon, whenever FA starts.
they'll certainly challenge for the NFC North. I still can't believe Fairley fell to them in the draft. That Dline is going to be disgusting.
Just read this to hubs (die hard Vikings fan) who says "Oh for cryin' out loud!! They're the LIONS!!! Are you fucking kidding me!?" ...and laughed his way out the door
That Lions DL is going to be nightmarish for anyone trying to run (or pass protect) against it. If Fairley is 1/10 as good as he is supposed to be, that front four will be fearsome. Avril-Fairley-Suh-Vandenbosch is a scary DL. Glad thats not in our division... But I am in agreement with inSanity here. Braylon won't be playing for the Lions next year. He may not be a Jet, but he definately won't be a lion after having CJ, draftin Titus young and resigning Burleson.
I've always been a NY Jet fan, although my favorite NFL Player of all time is Barry Sanders, so I pulling for the Lions.
