A.P.? Foster? CJ2K? Are you THAT big of a believer of Ray Rice's upside? Where do YOU go with the number 1 overall selection?

There is no consensus number one pick in fantasy football this year, but most would admit that the big three at the top are Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, and Arian Foster.

Before free agency began, I had them listed Arian Foster, Chris Johnson, and Adrian Peterson (in order that I would draft them).

Arian Foster on top because he was the only one with an experienced quarterback (the other two with rookies slated to start).

Chris Johnson over Adrian Peterson because I felt like CJ2K could do more in space with screens and tosses than AD could by trying to power through eight-man fronts.

Now, with the additions of Matt Hasselbeck and Donovan McNabb in Tennessee and Minnesota (respectively) that complicates the decision a bit.

I would still list Adrian Peterson third because he's not a big factor in the passing game and of the three quarterbacks Donovan McNabb is the worst, IMO (plus they lost Sidney Rice as Minnesota's deep threat).

To me, it's pretty much a toss-up between Arian Foster and Chris Johnson now.

The biggest concern I have with Arian Foster is that he no longer has the elite blocking of Vonta Leach to help him out (he went to Baltimore), so if anything's going to lead to Arian Foster being a "one-year wonder" it's that.

As for Chris Johnson, I'm a little concerned about his hold-out. While it doesn't really affect him in fantasy football yet, it could if it goes deep into the pre-season (similar to how it affected Darrelle Revis last year).

For now, I'd draft Chris Johnson with the number one overall pick because he's proven that he can produce over multiple seasons and offensive coordinator Mike Munchak has promised to get him the ball in space more this season.

Can't go wrong with Adrian Peterson. Somehow AP slipped to 3rd for me last year. Took that shit to the bank.

boy did i ever get lucky last year with Arian Foster... my #3 pick if i remember correctly...

    as for first this year?

Man does Larry look attractive now that he has what i would assume is a talented QB in K Kolb

Chris Johnson will be leaned on extra heavily this year

AP is always a safe bet

    so is Andre Johnson...

Ray Rice/Ryan Grant aen;t worth the #1 imo

I like kolb but im not sure so i would go with Andre johnson over AP because of AP takes some nasty hits

Vick in anything that isn't a PPR league, injury risk sure, but he gets you 600 plus rushing yards and good not elite QB numbers in one guy.

I would take Peterson without hesitation.
He's 4/4 in putting up stellar fantasy seasons.

You want as sure fire a guarantee as possible with the top pick, and imo AP is as rock solid as they get.

If you're a gambler and you're in a PPR league, Ray Rice might be interesting.
TD vulture McGahee is gone, plus they signed all-pro blocking FB Vonta Leach (same dude who opened holes for Foster in Houston last year).

Also, LeSean McCoy may be worth sniffing at with the first overall if it's a PPR league. Only thing that hurts him is Vick's bullshit scrambles into the end zone when they're near the goal line.

The thing with McCoy is that there's so many weapons on that offense.
Vick will certainly steal rushing TDs from him...no doubt. Plus they have Jackson and Maclin as WRs.
I would consider Vick at #1 before McCoy actually. The guy single-handedly won me a championship.

Rice is more of a one-man-offense.

Gentlemen thank you for some really well thought out opinions. As of right now I'm about 36 hours away from my draft and I think it has to be AP.

Just don't draft Arian Foster right now.

Vorr I just think in a year where as you said there isn't a clear number 1 guy, you gotta go with the beacon of consistency. Since he's dominated from day 1, I think we all forget that he's still 26. The decline is still at least two years away.

You need your first rounder to be an anchor for your team. AP probably won't put up a 45 game for you but he also won't put up a 5 point game very often either.

I'm not sold on anyone with the number 1 pick this year... I am hoping that I don't get put in that spot in any of my leagues this year. If I HAD to pick someone number 1 it'd probably be AP just for the consistency but Vick is awfully tempting.

I've always been an admirer of what CJ2K can do on the field but I can't fault someone for taking All Day. I took him with the number one pick in a pay league two years ago and the yardage wasn't anything special (thanks to Brett Favre) but he did score 16 times.

I want to play in your league. Theres no doubt I would kick the shit out of you in fantasy. Anyone who takes Andre Johnson first overall is definitely fantasy retarded. I'd love for someone in my league to go WR first overall. Means a great RB would drop right in my lap. LMK if you want to do a money league on it cuz i got $1000 right now for a team in your league

Who do you guys take #3 overall? I've been doing mocks and can't think of who I want. Gotta be a running back though.

This year's first round is a clusterfuck. I'm thinking (if available):

    AP
    Chris Johnson
    Arian Foster (injury?)
    Ray Rice
    LeSean McCoy
    Darren McFadden
Jamaal Charles (I think he might be a one year wonder)

McCoy and McFadden are reaches but I can see them going anywhere from top 5 to second round.

CJs gotta be the #1 overall in a PPR. Maybe ADP at 2 and Foster at 3 (not sold on him whatsoever). This year I personally would love to have pick 5 - 7. Land someone like McCoy, Rice or Charles and snag a top WR or a low-end RB1. IMO 2 of those 3 will finish in the top three this year, especially in a PPR league.

How can you say that without knowing the scoring system? In the league I have played for years with my friends, all yards count the same and it's PPR. QB and WR are more valuable than RB for the most part, other than position scarcity. It all depends on the scoring system.
