Pats have to be the pick for a Jets fan

Can't stand or live/in the arrogant Giants fans

    But here's another question...

Are the Pats more likely to have a post SB let-down that directly benefits us (i.e., the AFC East championship opens up) if they win the SB or lose it?

Remember the last time they played, Pats did not make the play-offs as SB losers, but the Giants almost literally shot themselves in the foot in a effort to repeat as SB champs.

I'll be rooting for the giants. I can't stand the patriots whatsoever.
I understand where many of you are coming from with the obnoxious fans. My facebook has been flooded with new giants fans all of a sudden. I can't even count how many giants fans this year haven't even watched or cared about super bowl 42 but now they are long time fans.
Think of it this way: You'll be content with whoever loses. :)

I have hated the Giaints since the old AFL days and their rude treatment of the upstart Jets and AFL. They called it the Mickey Mouse League and the Giants showed their scorn of the Jets every chance they could. We won SB 3 and yet the media favored them the very next season when we played them in a preseason game aka the Yale Bowl. Screw them well! We beat them and I enjoyed it more then winning SB3. I hate the Giants even worse then the Blowfish. The Patriots were old guard AFL so I reconcile that fact in supporting any AFC team over any old guard NFL teams, especially the arrogant ones like the Giants!

Hate the Patriots sooo much more than the Giants... then again, I'm not from NY.

No brainer for me, screw the Pats. Giants are less of two evils. I just hope we win our square, and Brady gets mauled.

    Why Root?

I'm concentrating on THE LOSER... .Someone tomorrow will be a LOSER.

Only thing I'm rooting for is Brady to get hit real hard A LOT.

Maybe the winner wins on some lame ass tuck-like call where everyone moans and asterisks the winner.

Actually, I'm hoping that the Giants win in such a way as to tarnish the victory and leave everybody saying that they never should have won.

    For example,
Lets say that N.E. is leading by 2 scores in the middle of the 3rd quarter. The Giants offense is moving the ball but they just cannot keep up with Brady and co. Now lets have a Giant defensive player (preferably someone that has been shooting off his mouth all week) take a run at Brady after the whistle, crack him a shot and have Brady fall awkwardly breaking his right arm and tearing his shoulder up and thus ending his career. Flags fly as a scrum erupts on the field. The Giants player is ejected from the game and latter fined a HUGE sum because of the blatant hit.
Now N.E.'s offense sputters and the Giants come back and win by one score. What will the press and fans say? If Brady wasn't hit with a cheap shot, the Pat's would have won the game.

That would be a win-win for us. First, our most hated division rival will be without their HOF QB and the Giants, though Superbowl Champs would be disgraced and held up for ridicule by the entire football nation.

Ah, a man can dream can't he?

Can somebody for the life of me please explain how Eli can go from having a 20 interception season and being a middle of the pack quarterback to being better than his brother off of 1 season?

    See, this guy gets it.

And then, after the game, we TMZ to get some footage of a drunk and belligerent Tom Coughlin getting a DUI on his way back to the hotel from some Indy strip club and taken away in cuffs while going off on a Mel Gibson-like anti-semetic rant.

God, I'd love to hear the opening of Francessa's show on Monday after that.

    No

I don't like how the Giants have been constantly jabbing at the Jets. They're in the SB, don't they have anything better to talk about? This Big Brother talk is annoying too, they are nowhere to be found when the Jets are better. They also have this reputation that they are classy, but I don't see it. Doesn't matter anyway, this ain't golf. So yea I want them lose. But they are playing the Patriots. In '07 I disliked the Pats much much more. Now I'm not so sure.

Remember that either way, either Big Blue or Belicheat and co. loses, so it's a win-win

Really? 50 years??? Really??? That is an absurd statement. If that statement is true, then Jets fans should be able to wave SB III in everyone's face as the game that defined NY football with the Jets being the first NY team to win a SB and the first team from the AFL to beat the NFL. Who cares what happened in the next 43 years?

The recent history of SB losers is that they have a bad season the following year. I would rather have the Pats slide than the Giants. That would directly impact the Jets rather than this perceived battle for NY, which in 46 years as a Jets fan I heard twice - in the 69 preseason game after the Jets won the SB and in the lead up to the Christmas Eve game.

What do you consider a bad season? They have all made the playoffs the next year, I consider that a good season.

Ha! only problem though is that since this is the Giants, the action of this player would be blessed by the angels on high, starting with St. Wellington, He would be revered as sacrificing his own financial well-being for the good of the Giants. Catholic elementary school s would take up collections to pay the fine. Streets would be named after him in Bergen County. Sportsmanship would be redefined. And Rex Ryan would somehow be ridiculed

4 years ago, I rooted for the Giants because I didn't want to see the Patriots go undefeated and get some retribution from Spygate. However, that was then... this is now. Back then, the Patriots were considered to be heels while the Giants were the underdog fan favorites. As time changed, the Giants have led success go to their head. Even though the Giants are the designated face team, they have shown signs of a heel turn while the designated heel team the Patriots have kept silent.

Personally, it won't matter who the winner is, but I do hope a double turn happens in which the Giants turn full blown heel while the Patriots turn somewhat into faces somewhere in the middle of the game.

(Forgive me if I use pro-wrestling vocabulary. Faces are the fan favorites, while heels are villains)

A bit exaggerated is an understatement. You exaggerated by about 49 years.
