It's a dead serious post. With the way ticket prices have inflated in sports, people will not support a bad team--especially if it's not the only show in town. NY has always been considered a much better baseball town than football, and the NY Mets are losing a ton of money due to poor play and Yankee success. The Mets will never leave however because they already got their new ball park. The Jets? Woody never got his West Side Stadium, and as result the door is always open for relocation. Supposedly MetLife Stadium is funded equally by the Jets and Giants, but the NY Giants would absolutely pay some sort of invasion fee to get the Jets out of NY. Is this scenario likely? No, but it is possible with the sudden emergence of the Giants.
This gets my vote as the dumbest post of the year. Talk about an overreaction. The Giants win the SB and now the Jets are leaving town!!! The "invasion" fee you are talking about is upwards of $1 billion. And Woody is going to reimburse all those PSLs after the Jets move to .......LA? London??
Where are you getting $1 Billion dollars from? Mara isn't going to have to buy the team in this scenario! I'm 100% sure that their is a buyout clause built into framework of the Stadium deal. Woody would reimburse the PSL's if he think he can sell more in LA or London. I said this scenario is not likely, but possible. <10%
