    Dont see it happening.

If it did however it would be an absolute disaster for Sanchez. Every Jets fan loves Pennington...he's right up there with CMart and Wayne. Sanchez has one shit game people will be drooling to see Chad take a snap as a Jet.

Fuck...imagine if we had Chad healthy in 2009 or 2010?

How crazy would it be, Check this shit.

Pennington signs in as the backup to Sanchez, He gets hurt first game of the year, In steps the old bb gun slinger and brings us all the way to a super bowl victory. Would be the craziest shit ever. That being said, Sign Penny!

    A team's #2 QB should be a younger version of the team's #1 QB.

Learning from the Vet, holding the clip board, waiting for his day to take the reigns.

Think Arron Rogers backing up Brett Favre for 4 years.

Think Andrew Luck backing up Peyton Manning for 2-3 years.

A team's #2 QB should be the 'future' of the franchise.

edit: and this is why the New England Patriots will spend the better part of the next 10 years at the bottom of the AFCE.

I suggested this in a another thread, but I don't think it will happen. I want him to retire a Jet, but he may still be bitter about how it ended (most likely). I don't think he wants to back anybody up if he comes back even though that is where he would be most valuable to a team. Love Chad, but he won't be back as a QB on the Jets (Maybe QB coach?).

It would be great for the board, certain people here would shit themselves and that would be fun to watch. However, as has been mentioned the last time he saw action he lasted about two plays and then he got hurt not even playing football.

I think he's the best qb in Jets history. I never saw Joe play, I guess he's better. But Pennington was so good.

No thank you! He can retire a Miami Dolphin for all I care! He's better suited to being a Journalist period!

Backup QBs need to be game ready

I think we forget that a backup QB needs to play if Mark goes down. Sanchez is important to the team. I, for one, don't want Chad Henne coming in if Sanchez goes down.

Penny will go into the hall of fame as a mummy, wrapped in gauze.

I would rather have him as the QB coach.

He went on injured reserve last year after getting bumped throwing his first pass of the game. That insignificant contact causing that damage indicates clearly that he's done. He would serve much better as a part of the coaching staff and not as a back up.

I would love to bring back Chad but we need a backup we can rely on to play if Sanchez gets hurt and we can't rely on Chad w/ his injury history.

I still can't figure out this thought from the media and fans. As if Mark doesn't want to be bothered improving.

    ^This

Except for the 30,000 fans at every game calling for Kellen Clemens during the 2007 season. Pffffttt. Fair weather fans having a case of "don't know what you got till its gone" syndrome.

Chad on staff or "consultant" - yes. As Kevin Mawae said, "...he's like an egg shell back there..."

The only hall of fame Chadwick will ever get in is the Sports Medicine Hall of Fame.

People forget that Chad chose to go play for the hated fish. I thought that was a slap in the face of all Jet fans, whether they were pro or con on Chad when he was with the Jets. Miami? Really?

He can retire as a dolphin. He should.

Chad could never stand up against any significant contact for long. The first play injury was just a fluke. he could just as easily have last a quarter and a half or 5 games for you guys. With great scheming that kept him from getting touched much he could have lasted the whole season.
