So lemme get this straight. You wanna take a guy who is way too immature to handle fame, and so emotionally unstable that he gets in fights with mall cops and his own mother...and put him in New York? What could go wrong?
Heres what Tanne said about last year in this years Sports Illustrated interview. "We initially went into the season thinking with Derrick Mason and Plaxico that our best personnel was one back, one tight end and three receivers,'' Tannenbaum said. "Over the course of the season we did evolve back to the running game, but at the beginning we kind of felt our best personnel was going in a different direction. In hindsight it wasn't the right decision.'' So YES im worried about this years WR corps............hmy:
Somewhat confused what correlation you're drawing between what Tanny said about our old and slow WRS last season?
The Cowboys aren't going to deal one of the best young WR's in the game on a cheap rookie deal unless he's so much of a headache that he's not worth trading for.
I see. I didn't draw the same conclusion, But I see what you're saying. Mason was brought in late ( Assume this was on Rex ) and Plax was a flier coming out of prison so I put those two less on talent evaluation. The fact that plax was hurt / limited through most of camp didn't help either. If the current class of receivers bombs as hard as last years do ( is that even possible? ) then I'll be right there with you.
If the Jets are going to actually run the ball this year then Dez would be overkill. All the Jets need out of the passing game is to consistently pull off a couple of deep passes every game to back the defense off the LOS so that the running game can do its thing. This offense is not a good offense for a feature WR, much less two. They'll have their work cut out for them getting Holmes the amount of touches he desires while still sticking to the offensive philosophy. This leads me to believe almost all of the passes are going to go Holmes way anyway.
The viscious cycle thats created here will lay the blame on Sanchez if the WRs suck watch and see. That will then open the door for Tebow. Remember how good Mark Sanchez was with Edwards-Holmes-Cotchery I do.
J-Co was / is far and away my favorite Jet,.. probably of all time. That catch against the Browns in OT will stay with me forever as one of the gutsiest things I've ever witnessed on a football field. He was missed tremendously last season.
Ok, do me a favor and breathe dude. If you're going offer a radical idea you need to be prepared for a radical response. I.e. people disagreeing with you. Re-lax.
So this years WR corps sucks they bench Sanchez,Tebow runs the ball and scores TDs we win some games. Holmes starts bitching and the season implodes. Maybe its the plan to get tebow in as the starter. Stranger things have happened with the NYJETS.
Theres a diff between disagreeing and attacking a poster for their ideas but i apologize for directing the prior post at you, i was mostly referring to previous posters
How is wanting to trade for Dez Bryant homerism? Please explain that one. Oh wait, you won't, you're a troll. Find another site to pollute.
Calm down sweetie. All I am saying is that this "Sign this BEAST" shit is annoying. Fact is, the boys are trying to motivate Dez all while keeping a decent public image. Do you really think they will move him? If they do what are the chances the Jets will try and sign him? Do you even know if the cap $'s would work out? There are so many different reasons why this is not happening; enough to make a person not start a thread about it. And yes, as a Jets fan your opnion is always welcome; just make sure its well thought out (unlike alot of peple on here). Makes for a better conversation.
