Well, just like that, Pittsburgh is now 2-3 just like our beloved Jets. Keller and Hill will be back Sunday against Indy. Our start may have been rough and frustrating, but things are looking up right now. We NEED a win in Indy this weekend.
Doesn't the fact that the Steelers lost to the lowly Titans make their complete undressing of the Jets seem worse?
No doubt. Overreaction after losses is standard here, we're still in this thing, ugly as it has been.
Nope. Any given team can win on any given Sunday. Or Thursday. Or Monday. Or Saturday, if you watch College Football.
Majority of the posts here have said the Jets lost to three good teams. Doesn't seem like Pitt is very good after all, thus making the loss worse.
In the eye of the beholder. As I said before, any given team on any given day. Indy went out and beat Green Bay, the same team that analysts are still saying will be making a playoff run. Jets got clobbered by San Fran, but then almost beat the best team in the league and lose by 6. Baltimore looks like a power house the first game of the season, then beat KC 6 to 3. The examples go on and on. The fact is, we had a terribly rough start with tons of injuries, yet we are 2-3, same as a lot of other teams, including Pitt now, and we are 2-0 in the division. Hill and Keller are back and we are in a must win position come Sunday. Frustrating start, but NO WHERE NEAR over!
Steelers lost on a short week on the road. Thursday Night road games are brutal. Us Jets fans witnessed it first hand last season.
A loss is a loss. They had Redman receive for over 100 yards, Wallace for over 90, Miller for over 60, and Big Ben threw for 363 yards. They put up 23 points, yet still lost. Anything can happen. It is way too early for people on here to throw in the towel.
Pitt is very good at home, less so on the road. Like they always are. Except now they're a little older. Who cares how the loss looks, obviously Pittsburgh on the road isn't an awful loss. Bottom line is the Jets are 2-3 and have to start winning games. If they do, then there's still a very real chance of making the playoffs. If they don't, they'll miss. The AFC is down this year. If you give New England, Houston, Baltimore and Denver the divisions, it's between Miami, New York, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and San Diego for two playoff spots for the wild card. And the division also isn't out of reach. The most difficult thing for the Jets will be actually winning the games. I don't know if they can. But the opportunity will be there, and the 2-0 division start is a nice thing to have in hand.
I think for most the feeling is worse because we don't have Revis or Holmes and guys keep getting hurt.
That's what prevents me from getting too optimistic. But burying the season at 2-3 and 2-0 in the division is too soon, no matter how bad it looks. Bury it when it's over, there will be plenty of time to do it then.
Every team deals with injuries. The Steelers had like 5 guys going out tonight. That being said, the game against the Colts is a must win. If the playoffs were to start this week and we beat them, we get the number 6 wildcard spot. It will also be extremely helpful if the Pats lose. That way, we can still have a thin sliver of being first in the division.
Funny how I was preaching this EXACT thing before the Houston Texans game and everybody was doubting me....saying idiotic stuff like starting Tebus because we have nothing to lose....PATHETIC...smh
I do applaud the losses by the bengals last sunday and steelers this thursday. still have some slight hope for this year.
Steelers fans on the scout board think their season is over for some reason... On other news, we would not survive if we were in the NFC.
This.... Also the AFC is a complete mess this year, I think you can get a wild card this at 9-7, or dare i say, 8-8. One other thing, I would not be surprised if the Pats lose to Seattle.
Exactly man, at 2-3 and 2-0 in the division we can still pull this out but people really gotta start getting healthy and we need to stop dropping like flies. Not even close to over yet.
No, I don't think it does. The Jets never win in Pittsburgh. The Steelers loss was an away game in Nashville.
