Smith got drafted the year before Gamble started And 5 years before Gamble started working with the draft department (for the 49ers)
This really made me laugh. Thanks guys. That said, I've sent a message to Gamble that unless he wants to puss out, he should meet me in the parking lot of the Florham Park Applebee's tomorrow evening.
Well. I know he wasn't hired just yet but... He hasn't done nothing yet. Fire this bum. EXCUSES! EXCUSES! EXCUSES! Admit it. He hasn't done a thing yet. He sucks.
didn't even get the job yet and he thinks he can just relax until he signs his contract, who the hell does this guy think he is
I'm with Gamble (or whoever they sign) until he says one of the following: - "I'm a lucky guy." - "I have the best job in the world." - "It's a process." Meanwhile, with no GM, and a coach on vacation, someone in the organization has been busy signing people: Link
What really is disturbing about this, is we are interviewing candidates who will work with that steamy piece of shit coach we have. Gamble and Ryan are friends, I'm sure that will be best for the team. How will we get the best guy this way. Maybe we will pick more defensive players in the draft this year, and a blocking tight end. Woody is killing this offseason. I hope the Giants stick it to him next year and play in the Super Bowl. Bad time to be a Jets fan.
This could hold water if you know Gamble wasn't considered a prime GM candidate before even being linked to the Jets.
I just hope this guy is his own thinker. If he is all business, and dosen't have blind loyalty to Rex we will be fine. If he just rubber stamps all of rex's wishes we are in for it. I want him to be good, and start building us an organization we can be proud to root for. Just like I think everybody wants on here.
the press should like him as his surname makes for easy headline puns The Jets Gamble on a new GM Has the Gamble paid off? etc etc etc
The new article on the ticker says that Gamble like Ryan believes in the ground and pound philosophy. All Defense, and a conservitive offense. Sounds like we are getting a Rex Ryan yes man. Woody is sticking with the Ryan way. Sounds like we signed up for a couple more years of the crap we have see the last 2 seasons. This sucks. So does Woody.
The 49ers do the same thing we do. Only thing is...they have better players to execute it with. The 49ers and Seahawks are teams that I want US to be. I want us to have a defense that holds Brady and other elite QBs to under 20 points and bad to average QBs to under 10 points. I want our offense to be able to score 20 or so points a game, which Seattle and San Francisco can do. That, to me, is what ground and pound is about. Nice, ball control.
