I remember listening to either Dan Lebatard or Jorge Sedano interviewing Pennington last year. Pennington seemed bitter about returning to the Jets saying something like "How would you feel about returning to a team that fired you?" Money talks, so you never know, but I don't expect him coming back to the Jets anytime soon.

Dam, that's a shame he feels that way but he was hurt constantly and he is a pro so he has to understand it's a business.

At that point Tanny was still the GM, at least the GM isn't around that fired him now though the owner still is and we know the owner wanted Favre.

I'm pretty sure he work kind of like an assistant to help Sanchez learn Sparano's O last year? If it was a bitterness thing, I wouldn't think he would have done that last year.

You all realize this is the exact same thing he was doing when he was helping Sanchez learn Sparano's offense during training camp last year, right?

I really don't think Chad is asshurt that he got cut for Brett Favre, he just enjoys helping out younger players whenever and wherever he can.

Whenever he is ready, I think we would all agree he'd make an excellent position coach and potential coordinator some day. I think I read somewhere he moved his family to Kentucky.

Regardless of whether he was injury prone or not, he deserved better. His exit from the Jets was a fucking disgrace to put it mildly.

Frankly, I wouldn't be too surprised if he elects to work for the Dolphins in favor of the Jets. T-Bomb dropped the ball there too.

No. He is hurt because the Jets decided to go with an old, mercenary, selfish, bitter, washed up future HOFer whose only reason for playing was to stick it to the Packers over him - a player that have his heart and soul to the team, played hurt, and did nothing but win and act with class when he was here. Future HOFer means nothing. It just means you are old and at the end of your career. Let's face it. In retrospect, the Favre move was horrible. It was done purely for ticket sales and publicity. And it blew up in the Jets faces. And Pennington went on to stick it to the Jets by winning the division with an inferior Dolphins team.

Yeah, but, Chad would likely just have gotten hurt again with the Jets and by that point he was a very limited player against good defenses.

I liked Chad a lot but he had enough physical issues that it was clear he wasn't going to last long as of 2008. The right move that year would have been to draft a QB at some point and have Clemens and that QB fight it out and then figure things out from there.

Chad would have won any QB competition the Jets put on and so moving on from him was not a bad idea. The bad idea was bringing in a one-year gunslinger who was going to melt away quickly no matter what he did.
