I'm sad to see Mark go out on injury like this, but on the other hand, I am kind of relieved that we won't see him in a Jets uniform past this year. Great guy, and had some good moments, but he has been cooked since 2011. He was nothing more than an average to below average game manager and even then he tended to make a lot of huge errors. The thing between him and Geno is that Geno basically has cart blanche to throw the ball all over the field and be aggressive, where as with Sanchez conservative was the word. Regardless, I will always be thankful for those 2 AFC Championship appearances and his class throughout this whole off-season. Hopefully he will still be on the bench for us and will continue to help Geno out with the professional aspect of the NFL.
Tom Brady must've sucked in college too. I don't think Geno looked any better in pre-season. And he had admittedly lost the competition to Mark. If it is an open competition, where is Simms's shot? They'll do it at some point. Probably when we are 2-7.
Me too. I also miss loud mouth Rex in the press conferences. Now he's all tight lipped and grumpy. Maybe fat people really are more jolly.
I looked at the play again. You are right; it was slightly to the inside but it was still away from the safety. If he breaks his route off and comes back to the ball that's catch, PI or at worst an incompletion. When you look at the overhead shot of the play, you will see that Hill is not running any sort of recognizable route. I'm guessing it's a post or skinny post but it was a complete round off with no break and no attempt to attack the CB's inside should in order to compromise the CBs outside leverage. The overhead shot shows a great contrast in running a post pattern. When you look at Holmes' post; he did all the things you are suppose to do while did not. It was just a 2 man route. Holmes was his first progression but he moved off him when the SS tried to jump in his passing lane. If he stayed on Holmes just 1 second longer he would have seen Holmes cleared the SS and broke open in the middle of the field.
You love to bash the D but it was the reason we were there to begin with. Does the first half of a game not count? The strip sack for a TD? 0 points in the first half? The D couldnt get it done on the last drive but our offense is just as much responsible.
Brady didn't suck in college at all. He was just under the radar. He won a conference title and 20 of the 25 games he started. Matt Simms won only 2 games as a starter in his whole college career (vs. 2 powerhouses like Tennessee-Martin, and UAB), got benched in favor of 2 different freshmen in back to back years and generally looked terrible in his time on the field. Either way, I wouldn't hang my hat on a Brady situation with this kid. that's a once in a lifetime thing. The odds are overwhelmingly against him. Also, do you happen to think it possible it is the open competition you speak of and that Geno is that much better than Simms? Possibly.
Yes the first half counts- when the D was dominated by Pitt and got us out to a 17-0 deficit. Our O was responsible as well but the D was the main culprit. we had 3 pts in the 1st half by the way.
clearly we would be continuing to prolong mediocrity with him right now so it is in fact a good thing to move on to something new. or have you NEVER left a job for a better opportunity? well if juncy just sticks it out as bagger at the local price chopper he will work his way to the top and be head bag engineer. sometimes change is necessary. its been necessary for the past 2 years when it comes to mark but he will just keep on keepin on.
I'm trying, I am hoping to be the guy that collects the carts in the parking lot next year! Good organizations have stability at QB, do you think the Giants are ready to make a change? Eli stinks right now and struggled worse than mark his first few years. Are the Steelers looking beyond Ben? we had a guy we know we can win with which is hard to find in this league. Now we are on to the next one and fans are already turning on the next one just like they will w/ the next one after that.
First pic is in on what Mark will look like after surgery has removed all bad bits... can't help thinking they've missed a bit
After his second year they removed all that MS had around him and for the next two years it went from bad to worse for this guy and still he never sad a bad thing and was was a team player... But once he is gone and on another team OH BABY you will here all the dirt. C A N T W A I T
