if they show me they have the ability to play in this league and we can win w/ them I will back them. I backed Chad and mark and we won a lot of games w/ them. I didn't back favre and Clemens and the proof was in the results.

Yes, for now. He's shown me he can play, he's also shown me he's not ready and I don't blame him for that. It's Idzik's fault for the sham competition, Geno should be watching Mark from the sidelines right now and he has no choice but to play. Not his fault.

I don't think seeing 25TDs and 26INTs for a rookie is bad. What is bad is 25INTs and 6 TDs.

The ratio has to be close to 1:1 TD to TO ration for a young QB. Smith isn't even close to that. Geno is 1:3 right now.

This is why I'm still mad about the preseason gamve VS the GIants. That stupid decision has not only hurt Mark, but Geno and the team as well. Geno would be best served learning from the bench this year and then taking over full time next year.

It is what it is; and my hope is Geno really can stay confident. He is really struggeling right now.

*OH, and lok at his lack of weapons. Keep in mind he has more right now than Mark had last year*

I'm sorry but lack of weapons? Are Winslow and Cumberland not decent tight ends? Stephen Hill has 233 yards receiving so far and he pretty much missed a game. Kerley is one of the better slot receivers in the game. If Holmes was healthy he's a gamebreaker and he's getting healthy. Powell has really come into his own. I hate when people say we don't have weapons. We clearly have some pieces on offense.

Come on now. I'm not going to bash our receiving corps or use it as an excuse for poor QB play, but each of those guys has some serious warts.

Geno is going through typical rookie growing pains. Just because these other rookie QBs light it up in their rookie seasons doesn't mean they all will, or that those who don't are doomed to fail.
We need to watch Geno as the season progresses to see if he makes strides by correcting his carelessness with the ball.
He's shown really great arm strength an accuracy, as well as poise under pressure. I think this kid's going to be the real deal.

In today's NFL you need to find out what you have in your rookie QB as soon as you draft him, as to not set you back 2-3 years if you draft the wrong one. You need to know what you have in Geno before next years QB-rich draft. What dont you understand about that?

I don't really see how Geno could've learned more from the bench than he could from actually playing. You should probably have gotten over a preseason week 3 game by now. It's week 5. Stop living in the past.

I understand where you're coming from and you're right the cupboards aren't bare but they certainly aren't stocked with groceries from whole foods.

"Decent" isn't the same as a "weapon". He's not garbage but there's a reason Winslow was a free agent. And powell, kerley...are great supplemental guys but they aren't primary weapons. Holmes is a head case and can't be relied on even when he is healthy. Hill has days when he looks like a solid WR. Need more of the good days.

Look around the NFL. They are terrible in comparison.

we have enough weapons to compete for a playoff spot if we remain relatively healthy but we have bottom half of the league weapons.

A sham competition? To be honest, if a 2nd round rookie QB can even make it difficult for the franchise to chose between him and a 5th year veteran starter...then the veteran deserves to be treated that way.

Sanchez has done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt here. I'm glad the front office and coaching staff was leaning towards moving on from Mark. It shows that they really are committed to changing things around here, and making this a respectable franchise once again. I applaud them for that.

It wasn't difficult, there wasn't any real competition. if Rex didn't have his hands tied mark would be healthy and we'd be 3-1/4-0 right now.

Idzik wanted Geno to win and it forced mark to enter a game in the 4th qtr of a meaningless preseason game which opened the door for Geno to start.

Unless Brees Manning, Brady et al is your starting QB, you draft BPA no matter what - QB or otherwise.

And to your second point, Aaron Rodgers says hi.

Please stop with your nonsense hypotheticals and what-ifs. They're stupid claims that have no basis in reality.

They have a basis in reality, just b/c you hate the man so much you cannot admit it is not my problem. Stevie Wonder could see we'd be AT LEAST 3-1 w/ Mark at QB. The only ones who can't are the anti-sanchez folks who I am sure are really enjoying Geno turning it over at a rate never seen before.
