Agree Joe, except Pouliot was in the right position, Brassard has to come down low to cover that guy, they play that stupid man defense...

Ok. But help me out on this one:

looking at this video (link at bottom), go "full screen" and then play/pause/play/pause to check out the 'frames' as the play develops on the 2nd Peguin goal (Jussi Jokinen).

Looking at the replay, I'm seeing Brassard trailing the play and then pausing to look back towards the point. Rangers have two guys engaged in one-on-one coverage behind the net. Nash peels off from the side of the net to move into the low slot in front while Pouliot (who originally picked up Jokinnen leave him and peels back away from the net as well.

In short: clicking play/pause/play/pause, note how while Jokinen moved towards the net, the two guys in white (Nash & Pouliot) were moving away from the goal leaving Jokinen all alone. I'm not contesting your (educated) observation, on the contrary, I'm asking for your 'guidance' :) in explaining what the deal was (or should've been) here. If Bressard did come down to cover Jokinen and with Nash was on the side of the net, who would've covered a Penguin walking in from the point? Nash? I know the previous sentence probably reads clear as mud but would appreciate your thoughts (as well as pertauining to your "stupid man defense" :) comment). Thanks Matt!

PS: Jokinen?? What Finn does not spell his surname with a double consonant, i.e. Jokinnen? ;)

Rangers traded for Carcillo. Don't like this guy, but if he protects our players, I'm all for it.

Can Chara knock the shit out of Boyle again? Might instill a little toughness into him. One of the biggest players in the league, but definitely one of the softest players. I'd want Zucc to back me up in a fight over any of the the charmin crew(Boyle, Nash, Staal).

In man defense they have to stay with their man, Brass has to get to the front and help out, my son was watching in the basement and came running up and said the same thing, Dad what the fuck is wrong with Brass...by the way Joe Nash is a girl!

Boyle scored, Dom Moore has two and Kreider got into a fight with Princess Phaneuf. Its 7-1 Rangers. Great performance tonight.

Did I see the correct score or am I hallucinating? The Rangers scored SEVEN goals in one game? That's more than they score each week!

The Leafs gave up after the first period. They even let Brian Boyle score. No way he could score in the NHL against a team that tries.

I actually was hoping Dom Moore deflected that goal in, it would have been a hat trick for him...

Mercy rule at 7-1, Pouliot should have 9 goals, didn't even review it...

Nice - good for him! (and nice going Daddy)

I was glad to see "the rookie" weather the storm until his could finally shake his right glove off. Good, 'rooted' Ron Harris-like strength against a frustrated Phaneuf who had a bad one. I was thinking that when the game started getting out of hand towards the end of the 2nd period, that the only question left was whether Colton Orr was going to tattoo Brian Boyle because it seemed there was a stretch where Orr was looking to change it up and sort of had his eye on Boyle ..... while Boyle just turned away and went about his business, i.e. "avoiding eye contact" as if to say, "thanks but no thanks" ..... maybe just read too much into it : )

Agreed, I even thought that outside of a few stretches they were flat in the first period as well; Rangers beating them to loose pucksl; just more overall jump than the Leafs.

Tomorrow at home vs. Columbus, Wednesday at Blackhawks, Friday at home vs. the Stars and next Sunday at home against the Flyers: when do you think Carcillo takes his act out of the box for his new team?

Thanks Joe, he's got a nice gig, usually watches the games with Kenny Albert and Dave Maloney....Phaneuf (I hate him as much as Crosby) had a rough night, he got face washed by Boyle, and then Boyle pinned his face against the glass
