    Good post.

Sanchez was a good guy and never took the bait whenever some media pot-stirrer tried to get him to burn bridges. The .750 Eagles beat the .444 Texans. Mark had a good game. Not an average game, a good game, a real good game. Not an outstanding game, but a real good game. He got the job done, his team won, period, end of story. Good for him, he's a good guy. Having said that, I also read the word 'spectacular' being used earlier in this thread. Keeping everything in perspective, THIS was spectacular:

he should have a million complaints w/ the way he was treated and the way they ruined his development. he should be here leading us to the playoffs for many years to come.

Lol, tstandard Junc trash talk. If he threw 300 a week, 3 TD's and a TO every other week there would be nothing to bash, I'd be calling him one of the top QB's in the league.
To get me to lay off him all he has to do is stop being a turnover machine and I'll call him an acceptable game manager.
That's all he needs to do...now to be a good QB he does need to cut the interceptions, increase the TD's and complete at the very least 60% of his passes on average over the course of the season and then he's a positive force QB.

Honestly Junc, at this point you're more interested in bashing and bullying me than you are in defending Sanchez.

    Monday's, yep, 2-5 W/L, 54% completion, 4 TD 9 interceptions...
And the man who's thrived in the post season....in 3 of 4 wins he combined for 2 Td's and 2 picks....now that is exculuding his one game where I do truly give him credit for a great game vs the Patriots.....1 good game out of 4 wins, 1 good game out of 6 playoff games. That's not thriving, that's riding the defense and running game and then being unable to pick up the defense when they've struggled....that's not thriving Junc....that's just riding the horse that got you there, in a carriage.....

If the Jets ruined Sanchez's development- why are you such a staunch supporter of every thing the Jets do, in particular Rex Ryan? Probably the biggest priority of an NFL HC is QB development.

Some of the dumbest stuff I've ever heard.

So Mark got paid very very well for 5 years, but the best years of his career--potentially the most rewarding years of his career--and in New York Fucking City--were severely impacted by the shit hand he was dealt.

But he should be happy with the financial aspects of his life (lest I remind you he was set up financially for life with his ROOKIE contract) and be happy that he lost a year because of a boneheaded move and toiled in obscurity in Philly until Sunday and will be scurrying around looking for a starting gig next year instead of being a long time franchise QB for the team that drafted him.

Yeah, he's got his money, he should just be content, right?

    Geezuz.

Why does Mark get so many passes and other players don't. Do you believe other guys don't play through injuries. Or play with some mediocre talent at some positions. Esp when injuries wipe out your starters. The bottom line are the results.
He got over 60 starts which means they gave him every opportunity to succeed. And great contracts. Which he never lived up to. You complain about his teammates and say he was working with mediocre talent. To me he was the worst player the Jets had on offense and committed the bulk of the turnovers. You can use the same excuses for any Qb. Including Geno. Let's see how he does in Philly. Chip Kelly says he will adjust his offense for Mark. The best move made by Idzik to date was cutting Mark.

And now Foles is out 6-8 weeks.

With the media already turned against him, I hope Sanchez clicks and jams a football sized suppository right up his ass.

Why the compulsion to come to a thread called "Sanchez kicks ass in Philadelphia" to defend him?
Why the compulsion to come to a thread on a Jets board to defend Sanchez?

BTW the EAGLES won the game, 190 yards rushing contained Foster to only 56 yards through 3 quarters till he got hurt..both Philly CB's going down to injury in the first Quarter.

and here's what you don't get...if it was just one game I wouldn't be saying a word, this was (with the exception of the high completion percentage) a typical Mark Sanchez game.....hand the ball off, ride the running game, turn the ball over a couple of times....claim the win. It's a mark Sanchez staple game. It's the low standards that Jets fans have of QB play that I'm really criticizing here, Sanchez just happens to be the poster child in this case.

MY real complaint, and real bitch is the low standards Jets fans have of acceptable QB play....and that's what drives me in this thread, it's not Mark Sanchez.....it's the fans and their low expectations from the position.

It was just ONE GAME. A good game, a good win by a backup QB. Let it go, it's pathetic

Why do you give a fuck what other fans think?

Why the compulsion to prove everyone wrong--to CONVINCE them that their opinion is wrong?

    It's pathetic.

The one thing I don't criticize Rex for was putting Mark in an exhibition game when he did to see how he would do. What's wrong with that. Mark had lost the starting job and was competing with Geno. Too bad he was injured but you can get an injury at any time. Why is Mark above everything.

Mark didn't lose the starting job, he was by far our best QB at that point.

Smith was not winning that job.

and here's something for you all to consider, I was a Richard Todd fan growing up, he "took" the team to it's first playoffs in over a decade..he "led" the Jets to the AFC championship game one year...Loved him...I still called him a crap Quarterback, still criticized the hell out of him and I knew he sucked as a QB, but I recognized his short comings. I still love Richard Todd, I love the memories......but he was still a crap QB who rode a good team to the playoffs. and that parallels Sanchez to a degree, I love the memories of the Sanchez "led" playoff runs...but I recognize that he rode the team to the playoffs and I recognize that he was a crap QB in an NFL that is the most pass friendly NFL in history...that said I do think Sanchez is a better QB than Todd, Todd was just really really really bad and played most of his career after the passing rules began to loosen up and was a huge turnover machine.

I don't hate Sanchez, I hate the type of QB Sanchez is/has been up to this point in time. I've seen that picture before, many times. So yes, I will remain critical of Sanchez the QB until he proves to me he's more than he's shown to date.

Isn't that what message boards are for? one person stating their opinion...the other person attacking the poster for thier opinion.....

Stokes, you've gotten to the point where you're not defending Sanchez, you're just criticizing, bullying, and trying to intimidate me...you're last few posts have had nothing to do with Sanchez, and I've been the focus of your attacks...

Get back to Sanchez or shut the fuck up.

Richard Todd had 2 playoff games where he threw 4 and 5 INTs(one game at home). that's more than Mark's total in 6 road playoff games. he threw 4 TDs in 4 playoff games, Mark had 3 in one game.

It was supposedly a competition which Mark hadn't won. You say he was our best Qb but Marty and Lee never said that. Look its too bad Mark was injured. I feel sorry for the guy. But it's part of the game and can happen at any time. I have never seen a player do so poorly and get more chances than Mark did.
