Since the Patriots won the Super Bowl, they will be opening the season at home on a Thursday night.. Take a look at the opponents that the Patriots have to play at home next year. Bills Dolphins Jets Jaguars Titans Eagles Redskins Steelers Let's takeout the Jaguars, Titans, Redskins and Bills right away. The Dolphins I don't see happening because it's not really a rivalry.. Steelers are possible but they aren't that good. Eagles possibly but usually they keep it within the conference for the Thursday night season opener. The Jets really are the most intriguing matchup given the fact we almost beat them twice last year, Revis is back on the Jets, and we made some great off season moves that should us make very good. I'm thinking it's almost a lock that we will be visiting New England week 1 in prime time. If this is the case, I can't fucking wait. Discuss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking at that I would say it's going to be the Steelers or Jets. I would prefer to not open the season like that but if it happens so be it.
Could be a coup too. A lot of momentum would come from beating an arch rival who just won the super bowl on the road in prime time opening night. It's like a quintuple whammy.
True. I doubt it would take much wind out if their sails but it could put some in ours. Ultimately, I don't care about the hype machine. I just want the W.
Good chance it is us. Steelers is my guess though. The last NFC-AFC opening game was Colts-Saints in 2007 and then us and the Redskins in 2003 so odds are it will not be the Eagles.
It's rarely a division game and you people are forgetting that the Jets were 4-12 last year. It will not be the Jets. When was the last time a 4 win team played in the season opener? This has become a showcase game. It will be the Steelers or Eagles. Book it.
Well, that won't really be relevant if he isn't starting but, yeah, I guess it's another story line they can cram down our throats the entire game.
No set date. It's usually late in April though. Should hopefully find out a date in the next week or two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm sure it will be Steelers/Patriots. As for us they may have us start on the road against the Colts.
It will be the Dolphins and hopefully Suh earns his paycheck. Down goes Brady, ah.... music to the ears. And we will play Buffalo.
I agree, the Eagles has bigger storylines with Chip that they can milk or the classic Steeler matchup is a much bigger story. Even the Bills is bigger with Rex Ryan and their defense.
Yup. Eagles, Steelers and Bills are all better teams with story lines that make sense. Todd Bowles and 4-12 isn't that interesting. I don't think the rest of the country gives a shit about Revis and tampering.
NFL will try to maximize the ratings. Eagles have no appeal. Steelers will be the first choice due to national fan base but if it isn't Steelers, it will be Jets due to NY market. Nobody cares about Bills or any other team on the list.
