Cap hit on the rbs for this year do not total 10mil. He pushed powells big number to next year. Robinsons number is small and i haven't seen fortes but i thought i saw we had approx 5 left after all the rbs were signed so i am guessing his number isn't that high this year either
He's probably more than that. But Snacks is listed at 350 lbs. I really doubt he's "taking Snacks' place"
Um, don't you mean SHIT? ...no offense, but that's what Gresham is, everytime I watch him I see a big, overrated target with wet noodles for hands!
OK Thanks. Obviously got the two mixed up. Great news! I'm glad we locked Bilal up for 3 years. I didn't understand why we signed Robinson for 3 and Powell for only 1. This makes more sense.
Yeah, great signing. Powell proved himself big time last year. I love the cheap one year deal for Robinson. Prove it deal. Guy could end up being something very special from what I've seen and read about him.
Jenkins is a 3-4 DE. He's insurance against a Richardson suspension of any length next year. It does look like Mo could be had in the right trade and I'm guessing the compensation the Jets want coming back their way is getting slightly smaller with every passing day. They'd really like that cap space while there are still some quality free agents out there to look at.
I think the trade would be more about the pick(s) than the cap. If there's someone Mac really wants, he'll find the money. Just like Mac won't pay someone over perceived value, I don't see him trading mo for under perceived value.
The thing is that most stars playing under the franchise tag in recent years have gone free agent the following year. The exceptions have mostly been QB's and WR's. Mo isn't worth as much to us if he's only a Jet for one more season and then a 3rd round comp pick after that. I wouldn't be all that surprised to see the Jets let him go for a high 2nd round pick at this point. It would free up a lot of cap space and it would get the Jets in range to take a QB that slides into the top of the 2nd round. It could be to Cleveland, or Dallas or maybe Tennessee. It wouldn't be a popular move at all but if the FO doesn't think they can re-sign Mo to a deal they can live with it's a lot better to get that top 36 pick back for him now than a sandwich pick between the 3rd and 4th rounds in 2018.
