Woody’s giving this regime a third year together is the right thing to do. To fire Bowles after two years would have been a knee-jerk move.

Could more than likely be the DC or any positional coaches. Gailey is last on the long list of issues. DB coach, linebackers coach probably could go. Offensive line coach too?

He'll have his third year however, he would be wise to understand that he cannot have a repeat of his 2nd year. His seat isn't hot, but it is indeed warm. In 2017, it will take quite the turnaround to cool that seat off.

Million dollah question: Can Bowles get it done? If he can, he stays. If not, he's gone. Simple.

No reason not to start the rebuild and do it the right way. Instead of the "competitive rebuild", just a rebuild will do. Hopefully they'll get it right this time.

We flew banners over practice demanding Woody fire the guy who was doing it "the right way" last time......

If they truly are allowed to stick around to do it, I think this rebuild can go a lot more quickly than people expect or even hope. Instead of starting the rebuild with a depleted roster, they're effectively going to be able to implement 3 draft classes at the same time. The competitive rebuild has essentially allowed us to begin the first 2 years of the process behind the scenes.

I swear I said many times on here that Bowles was safe..... time to start hoping Woody gets a job with trump and relieves himself from running things day to day

I'm frustrated because this year should have been next year, now we have to go through another year of the young guys going through growing pains and it might lead to another non-playoff year and terrible record.

But that's ok because when TB is fired at the end of next year, there might be a HC who is fired from another team that just might want to be a HC for the jets.

Btw, in my opinion, Kacy Rodgers can stay as DC, but only if Bowles going to have total control over D# playcalling. Fire Gailey and let the new OC do his things (same as by Gailey).

I'll say it again: RODGERS has to go. He is the worst DC the Jets have had since Ted Cottrell!

Gailey can go too, but Rodgers must. He is terrible.

I agree with the Bowles decision. A lot has gone wrong this year that is not his fault (injuries, Fitz being horrible).

I know that a lot of big name vets will go. I can live with Mangold, Revis, Richardson and others.

I think getting rid of Marshall would be a huge mistake. It has taken a really long time to get a #1 receiver. He has played with injuries and has been a good teammate about the qb situation. He his absolutely worth $7.5m next year and could really help the next qb, whomever it may be.

Well first, there are still 4 games to go. If the Jets lose all four or even 3 of 4, Bowles may yet be fired. I don't know what else there is to see from Bowles. Sure, players didn't play, but most of this wasn't due to injury, so it's a motivational issue, and that's on the HC. Also he has shown no improvement in game management. And either he's in charge of the lousy offensive/defensive game plans, or he's the one who has to take responsibility for them and should be overriding the OC/DC. Basically it looks like he's been standing in the street watching the house burn down. If he's not fired, I expect yet another wasted season next year.

Whose to say they aren't? The front office always says this, hell almost all the organization's say this, what would be the point of announcing they are going to fire Bowles with 4 games left? We will know what the owner has in store at seasons end.

Seriously? After two seasons? I'm not his biggest fan but for the sake of the franchise he has to be given a third season and prove his worth. Next season is pretty much a rubber match for Bowles. Did well last year, sucked ass this year, so he's gotta get it done next year or he's a goner. I think firing him now would be a mistake.

"Great" ? I know you can't say "great coach" with a straight face.

Look at the regression of Jets defense. That's really all you need to do to asses Bowles ability to lead. He has failed. He will continue to fail as a head coach in New York.

Bowles has lost this team. Worst Jets in 19 years. Bowles is a failure. I have no faith in Bowles ability to lead the New York Jets.
