Exactly. We need someone who is a disciplinarian and who will hold the players accountable, i.e., someone who will get in players' faces when they commit stupid penalties and mental errors, and bench them when they don't produce. If we don't, the good young players we have now could be ruined in another year if Bowles is retained and guys like Marshall and Revis are still here.
Exactly. Get a coach in here who knows what he's doing so that these players, especially the young ones, will be getting the proper coaching that they need.
If I were the owner of the Jets, I would fire Bowles today. Why drag it out? The veterans that "had his back" need to get a rude awakening that their time is numbered too.
The same argument most Jets fans have been singing for decades, wake me up when this actually happens, outside of Parcels and Ewbank, we had nobody
We have enough talent to be a good team. Last year showed that. We just have bad coaching. A good coach doesn't limit his options to teams that already are saturated with talent. He wants to go somewhere and build a winner. Look at Parcells and what he did with the Patriots, us, and the Cowboys. All 3 teams were swimming in futility AND had no notable stars until he came along. A good coach MAKES winners, he doesn't just try to inherit them.
If you need any more proof that Bowles isn't a good HC, just look at the contrast between the two HC last night. So much for, "Well he's a new coach and needs time to grow".
And indirectly this CS is doing further damage to the younger players by allowing the vets like Sheldon, Revis and Mo to get by putting forth an effort on game days that is downright embarrassing for professional athletes. Get 'em out, all of them...
In fairness, he could end up like Gus Bradley and have 4 losing seasons after this year, but they would have continuity so that should count for something.
But at least we'd have consistency. Then we'd be able to go out and get a good coach, because Woody had shown some patience and consistency. Yeah, that's it.
