Mike Mac DRAFT an OL in round 3--you're kidding right? He has drafted a total of 2 OL in three years with the jets, both in round 5.
I could see it. It's like using cap space to create draft capital. The Jets could use an extra 4th for sure, after giving up those 2nds. Any chance they could get a 3rd out of somebody? Probably wishful thinking.
I like the signing don’t need to draft one now. And if Rawls is healthy and plays like his first year in Seattle then I welcome our new RAWLS ROYCE
I am waiting to see the contract details before deciding what to make of this? Is there any guaranteed money? Is it a minimum of close contract? Can we cut him in camp if he does not show a lot? Is he a camp body of is he competing for a roster spot? I am having problems seeing where he fits in. I really liked the Crowell contract so let's see the numbers on Rawls.
I’m baffled by this pick up. I can only assume the medical staff are missing experimenting on Chris Ivory. Get the training bikes oiled and ready...
Rawls was a beas Rawls had a beast year with a suspect Oline, got injured never has got much going since. Worth a flyer considering how suspect our Oline is.
We usually carry 4-5 RB's on the 53 man roster. I'd expect Crowell , Powell McGuire, and Rawls, plus a FB to make the Roster. Langford will probably be released or moved to the practice squad. His contract is only $630,000 with $0 guaranteed. It's early, there will be plenty of bodies brought in. If one of the bodies proves himself, Powell could be traded.
Look at the 53 man roster for the past few years. It's what the Jets have carried. I don't expect them to suddenly change that, especially with Bowles wanting to run more.
The Crow has proven he can break some big runs though. Had some long runs with the browns and he has pretty solid hands.
Bare in mind jets carried 4 RBs in 2015.They traded for Zach Stacy on draft day despite already having Ivory,Powell, & Ridley I’d rather draft an RB in round 3 or 4 but perhaps jets will look to go OL finally
