I'm sure you disagree with me on this too, but I'm happy they're finally taking a risk. "No risk; no reward", and how long have we fans been waiting to be rewarded? Since Werblin and Ewbanks left the Jets have been the very definition of risk-averse, and what have they won? They could've had Marino, but he was too "risky" so they took O'Brien. They've tried to eliminate risk by relying on a Ground & Pound strategy, what did they win? It's long overdue that they went out on a limb. I just hope that Macc doesn't retreat back to his "safe" thinking by picking Allen.
Bow out please. You don't watch college, you don't watch NFL football either apparently . Step 1 is to pray that Mayfield can play as well as Taylor before we anoint him a better player. You have no objectivity, you just throw out one cliche after another and won't even consider anything else.
So I heard that the Browns are potentially thinking about taking Barkley at 1 and Mayfield at 4 because Darnold and Rosen aren’t all in on the Browns.... Also heard that if they take a QB at 1 it will be Allen and then Barkley or Chubb at 4??? What do u guys think?
What's with this newfound bs about who a fanbase will take to? Such BS. Fans will take to anyone who plays well, shows promise. Bills fans will be fine with whoever is there the minute they walk onto the field. Can you image any fanbase, NYers, of Mayfield and all his boasting and bragging goes out and struggles? NYers will kill him until he turns it around.
Given how much time the Browns spent with Darnold at his pro day I'd be surprised they pass on him. And I could also see the Giants giving the Browns OBJ in return for their #4 and another pick, and then the Giants take a QB at 2 and a pass rusher/OL at 4.
Actual Top 6 draft picks....25 days in advance... Cleveland- Darnold Buff (via Giants)- Allen Jets- Rosen Cleveland- Barkley Miami (via Denver)- Mayfield Colts- Chubb
If I was in the Browns position, with all those picks, I trade with the Giants 2 for 4, and take Barkeley and their choice of Q/B one and 2. The Jets would then pick Q/B and the Giants would still get Chubb and extra picks
If the Browns walk away with Darnold and Barkley, it may be the best draft they ever have. I think there's a good chance of that as well. I fully expect the Giants to try to screw us, especially once Darnold is off the board. I can see the draft going like this.
There is risk in moving up in this draft, putting all eggs in one basket. That risk can be compiled further by taking a guy with a whole lot of red flags considering we are all in on that guy. Cousins was our best option. Once we couldn't land him I guess we had to try moving up. I just don't like going to 3, without knowing who will be there at 3. Allen would be the best case scenario, but he sure as hell isn't a 'safe' choice either. None of them are. And I think Allen will be off the board at 2.
Only reason Browns do this, if they absolutely believe Giants will take Barkley, but you have to consider: Giants would get a 2nd from Browns and maybe a toss-in Giants can get a truckload from Buffalo Giants may want Barkley and Don't want to be behind the Jets...
True enough. Semantics I guess. They all have flaws for sure. For me personally, I consider character and medical concerns as red flag territory in draft and FA. Sometimes you still take a chance on the player, but I'd thoroughly look into those concerns first.
Are you ever right about anything you post? You got the wrong guy fool. I never called one of your simpleton posts out to a mod. Go away, there is a single topic that you can get right
