He does have to go but I do have little faith that the right thing will be. The guy has a terrible draft record with picking players that stick on the roster. The O-line sucks and he cannot get this team a good pass rusher. I have no faith that he will improve in the future and we have a good sample size to judge him on. They need clean house BUT they must do it the right way. When was the last time the Jets pulled that one off?

He was hired to come in and clean up Idzik's mess. Not only has he not done that, one could argue the next GM would have a bigger mess to clean up from him...

I think he'd be very good as the head of football operations guy with his experience on the field and in the GM's office but I also think that he is not interested in working for any organization other than the Ravens. There comes a time when people are no longer looking for big challenges. I'm also not sure that he and Harbaugh are still on the same page, if that's what you're getting at.

Hire Ozzie to overlook personnel he is money when it comes to discovering gems in the late rounds.

It looks like that is what his duties will be now in Baltimore where he is apparently quite happy. He was described as being the highest paid scout in the NFL.

He is the son of Ron Wolf. He worked for the Packers for a number of years as Assistant GM and when Ted Thompson retired, many thought he would get the GM job in GB. When he didn't, he left and took the Assistant GM job with the Browns.

Why is it the smart thing? His drafting and FA moves are average or below average. He's had 4 years to improve the talent level on the team and hasn't done very well. Do you really want to trust him to hire a quality HC, do a better job with the talent level of the roster, and potentially waste 3 more years?

I'm still torn on Maccagnan. He traded up from #6 to #3 and was able to get Sam Darnold. I think Sam Darnold is a future star. Should we really fire Mac Year 2 into a complete rebuild? He has some bright young guys on the roster like Darnold, Adams, Maye, Williamson, Williams, Enunwa, McGuire, etc. It's not all bad. I think his 2018 draft will have Darnold, Shepherd, Herndon, Nickerson, and Cannon all playing important roles in 2019. He also has had his players coached by a joke in Todd Bowles. GM's get fired for picking the wrong QB's. Sam has not shown any signs that Mac made a mistake. He should be allowed to build around his QB now. Plenty of cap space and draft picks to improve the roster this off-season too.

Having said all of that, the last 4 years have been brutal. If ownership decided to clean house, including Mac, I don't think any fan will be too upset.

You know, you hit the nail right on the head--jets fans have no reason to have FAITH in Bowles or McNuts. I don't see the jets winning another game this year, and I don't see McNuts capable of turning this team around--He has no eye for talent. During the 2017 draft ESPN had McNuts on camera for a few minutes, and he was crowing on and on about "that California receiver" he just picked in the 4th round. He had already forgotten his name (Chad Hansen), but was talking him up like he had just grabbed another Wesley Walker. Hansen lasted one season, as did Stewart the OTHER WR McNuts had REACHED for a round earlier. I have no faith or confidence that Bowles or McNuts can move the needle for this team. These men have had four years, and this year's team is the worst in many years.

What do you mean labeling it year 2 of a complete rebuild? McNuts has already had FOUR years here and look at the current product on the field (hello, 3-13). He was hired to rebuild the jets after a 4-12 season in 2014. If 2018 is year one of a "complete rebuild," what were his first three years here then ...a partial rebuild? A partial rebuild is like saying a woman is half-pregnant or partially pregnant, which is impossible.

2015 they re-stocked to win. 2016 the vets flopped. 2017 was the start of the complete rebuild the franchise has needed for a long time. It added Jamal Adams, Marcus Maye, and Elijah McGuire, but also flops like Stewart, Hansen and Donahue. Cut all of it's dead weight, overpaid vets. 2018 Mac added his QB. Problem is he did not improve the o-line at all during his 4 years. That is a big strike against Mac. I have defended Maccagnan, but also know he could have done better.

If he could have done better, he'd have done better by now. ;)
