NFL was wrong to believe that, and I think that's where the NFL ultimately failed in this whole kneeling thing. They had a great opportunity to really turn this around and educate those fans, but they failed to do so. The truth is the owners wanted nothing to do with it. At the end of the day, that was the reason why Kaep was not on an NFL roster, not the level of his talent in which that is collusion. Sure, suspend him for whatever "rules" he violated, but to blackball?
He clearly wasn't protesting against the flag or the country. He was protesting against unarmed African-Americans being shot by police. The reason a good portion of the country thought he was shitting on the flag was right wing radio, tv and the President told them that's what he was doing. They were lying and their constituents bought it.
we had a poster on here named Stokes that definetely worshipped the reality tv guy. Idk about you, sadly we aren't allowed to talk politics anymore and I never said anything about fighting. I said I would give you a piece of my mind. at applebees. $6.99 burgers every monday, nothing like some greasy burgers and wholesome conversation
A YEAR later. And he wasn’t very clear from the very beginning. He only formulated his “stance” after all the back lash. What does the flag stand for? Police shouting blacks (and whites)? Or the ideal that is the USA? That’s what people were pissed off about.
I’ve had to go back and research him because of all the allegations comparing us two and he doesn’t appear to be the worshipping sort.
Again, his talents, as minimal as they were, weren’t worth the baggage. Apparently Reid was worth it but as a bit player nobody cared about him. Kaep was the face of it.
Without the baggage that came with kneeling I am sure he would have been signed, with the kneeling it's another story. Even before the kneeling I didn't want him on the Jets which is whats important to me. Not saying he wouldn't have been better than what we had but at the price they were talking at the time, no way.
It still baffles me that kneeling could be construed as a sign of disrespect from the get go. The body language of it has always related to subservience, and the gesture is typically associated with prayer.
Lol a year later. I know people on both sides of the aisle who were pissed off well before Trump jumped in. But I’m guessing you don’t believe that, that it was just the Alt right fringe that turned off the game.
I don't believe they were pissed off. I believe they were led by the nose by Fox, right wing radio and facebook trolls. Most of the real hate is calculated racism.
Aaaaannddd there it is again. Pulling the race card just because you disagree with people who think what he did was wrong is disrespectful to real racism. Lots of black folks disagreed too. Racists the lot of them.
If Kaep's talents were minimal, what do you call Nathan Peterman, Blake Bortles, and Josh Johnson? At this point, I am talking strictly the player with you. Cam went down this year, think he could've helped the Panthers? The baggage, not the talent was the reason why teams didn't sign him. It's not up to the coaches, it's up to the owners who sign off on every transaction.
I didn't want him on the Jets either. He could have helped a lot of teams like the Broncos, Panthers, Jaguars. All at some point were in the playoff hunt. That's this year alone. His talents aren't minimal.
I agree, it's terrible that people insult those who disagree with them. Take this guy. What's his problem?
The talent did not outweigh the baggage, that’s the point. It’s why Kareem Hunt was signed within months and Ray Rice never was. You don’t think Rice wasn’t as good as the 4th RB on any team in the league? Of course he was good enough but he wasn’t worth the bad press. And if @Biggs is right, it was only the Alt right, people that watched FOX and racists that really cared about Kaep. By that logic he should have been back immediately.
Yeah, that’s like calling someone racist or homophobe or Islamaphobe or White Supremacist or Nazi or bigot. Lol. Well done there.
