I just wanted to say thanks to Laveranues Coles. He has a chance to set the Jets' all time single season reception record and has a chance to be the first Jets player with 100 receptions in a season. His toughness, courage and leadership has been invaluable this year. Congratulations on winning team MVP Lav! He is so reliable for Chad and always makes plays after catching the ball. How could you not notice his desire on that 1st down reception against Minny last week. Here's to you Lav  Anyone still upset over the Moss/Coles trade now? Hopefully we will see one of these on Monday Night
I always like that trade.....moss is good when healthy (keyword) ...and u got a strong arm QB......i'll take LC anyday u cant coach toughness and heart PERIOD!
He is an absolute beast. Every week he has a catch that makes me go "wow". He catches everything with his hands, and has amazing toughness.
Who holds the record now? Just curious. I wasn't upset with the trade but would it sound selfish if I wanted them both?
Coles is the freakin' man. At first, I was happy about the trade, but last year, not so much. Then I had to realize that we had no QB last year, but he's taken off like a friggin' rocket this year, and I love every moment of it. He's a tough SOB and plays with determination. I think that catch & run vs. the Patriots in week 2 sums up how he's played this year. That play was so damn exciting. Him and Cotchery will be a great duo for years to come.
I feel good to have defended that trade last year even when many Jets fans (you know who you are, despite the fact you've changed your tune now) thought it was a bad trade because Moss was making huge plays and Coles seemed like an ordinary possession reciever. Coles is a lot better than Moss and I'm glad we made the trade. If only we didn't let Coles go originally, maybe we'd have both Coles and Moss right now, with Cotchery the most amazing slot reciever ever. But there is a salary cap and the word was that we probably wouldn't have resigned Moss anyway cause he was gonna be a free agent after 2005.
Its amazing what a healthy Chad can do. L. Coles struggled last year with Bolly but with Chad hes a totally different player
People keep trying to compare Tim Dwight or Jerricho Cotchery to Wayne Chrebet, but Coles is the guy whose toughness, concentration, and competitiveness is most comparable to Wayne's. Except Coles has the added bonus of more speed. I hope he stays a Jet.
Hands down. I said it all off season and all you guys said was we needed Deion Branch. Glad you guys can see the light. Coles is without a doubt the most underrated receiver in the NFL.
the best thing about coles is his consistency and his ability to come up with big plays when Chad needs him.
I remember Coles complaining about Mangini's workout practices and such at the begining of the year. Anyone know if Coles adjusted or does he still have issues?
Coles just likes to talk out. From what i'v heard he talk alot around the team, and is a bit of a joker. I'm sure those comments were just because of his frustration and not real criticizing because i know he has a lot of respect for mangini
