Hopefully, he's as good in coverage as some of you have said. I do love his speed in the videos I've seen.
Cimini just posted that the cap figure is $5.5 million between base salary and signing bonus. I am guessing the initial report was wrong or is perhaps the maximum the deal is worth assuming there are additional bonuses to hit.
If anyone watched that and thought he was supposed to bring pressure and he just stood there something is wrong tbh
I see people projecting Davis as a MLB which makes me wonder if the Davis signing means the Jets have already agreed to trade Mosley. I guess we will find out Wednesday.
Mosley is actually a fairly valuable asset this year for a contender who thinks he will hit the ground running and continue his 2018 production without a hitch. $6M on the cap and no need to worry about him wanting to renegotiate the contract because 2022, 2023 and 2024 are the money years in the deal.
Maybe the Jets keep them both and have Mosley play the MIKE ,Davis at the WIL and Basham/Huff/FA/ play the SAM Really like this signing on a 1 year deal. Davis's Walter draft preview likened him to Jonathan Vilma...I see the resemblance.. WalterFootball.com: 2017 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Jarrad Davis
He’s a Will in this D, not a Mike imo. And a huge downgrade from Mosley. it would be so Jets to absorb the cap hit on Mosley when hurt only to trade him when healthy.
I hate to say it, but he reminds me more of Darron Lee than Vilma. Speedy, undersized. Was sort of a disappointment as a 1st rounder in Detroit, with a lot of blame put on the “system” which was primarily 3-4. Saleh’s D is essentially just a 3-4 variant. I don’t see him capable to play the Mike position, I’m hoping he can resemble Dre Greenlaw at the Will tho.
Davis has poor awareness. "Missed tackles and over-pursuing has been a common theme to his play." Yes, sounds a lot like Sharon Lee
I'm waiting for the sizzle. I like the Lawson signing. I would feel better with another one like him on the other side. Then get a CB. Then I could see the draft being offense heavy.
It’s a one year deal, I’m not going to lose sleep over this signing. Jets have a new defensive scheme, there are holes to fill, if he didn’t sign him JD could have gone Micah Parsons, but I’m sure no one wants that selection either at number 2. Stop gap players in a transition year, I get it, however I’m going to say this, JD needs to start drafting studs, I get everyone, myself included wants a FQB but if JD doesn’t believe Wilson is the guy, then trade back for multiple picks and fill up the cart with difference makers. There is no reason JD shouldn’t come out of the first and second round with at least 4 day one starters for the Jets. If he keeps trading back and ends up leaving good players on board for other teams to scoop up and Jets end up with a bunch of Ashtyn Davis type players I’m pulling pitchfork out of the shed!
It would be a pretty neat trick to come out of the 2nd round with 4 day one starters on only 3 picks. The #2 pick is gonna be Wilson, so I guess either he traded Sam for a #2 or traded down from #23 or #34. Was 4 a typo, or do you expect JD to trade down from #23 or #34, or do you think he'll trade Sam for a #2?
I expect a trade down from the number 2 spot, and Jets garnering an additional 2nd round pick this year.
