If we addressed This somewhere else mods please accept my apologies and help move as appropriate. But I thought it was of notice that the rumors are building up from various sources here out in the West coast that both Lawson and Hartman, healthy scratches this weak, are kept out because they are both in the midst of some trade negotiations. Has anyone else back East heard similar rumors. I'm thinking and hoping more and more JD is desperately trying to use them as leverage to capture a much needed O lineman that can help strengthen our much maligned Achilles heal.
As a separate note, I would like to give kudos to the many brave Jet fans that took their colors to Denver and rooted hard for our team even after some very dubious circumstances during the first half. Well done

I hope so but I'm really skeptical that the Jets could get much (maybe a 6th?)

I'd hold onto Hardman, especially if Gipson gets the yips fielding punts.

I saw Vegas was interested in a pass rusher since the shit going on with Chandler Jones. Lawson for any pick would be awesome.

If JD can pull a rabbit out of his hat and get us a quality lineman I am all for it.

I haven't seen or heard anything about trades, LA, but I wouldn't be opposed to it, either in terms of acquiring an OL or draft picks next season. I like Lawson, but he's just not the same player as before his achilles injury. I liked him even more when he took a pay cut to help the team, but he just isn't producing. Hardman has been a HUGE disappointment to me. I really thought he would be a dynamic player for the Jets. He had struggles in TC. Maybe the CS lost confidence in him and are hesitant to play him. Maybe it was the emergence of Gipson. Maybe Hackett just doesn't know how to make use of his talents or his offense doesn't use "gadget-type" plays. Whatever the reason, he isn't helping the team, so they might as well try to get something for him.

honestly he was just never good and gipson beat him out for returner/gadget player
hackett isn't really a gadget play type though

I want all that jazzed about Hardman
It makes sense. I doubt we get much for either of them. What I don't want to see is Joe getting desperate and trading Bryce Huff.

Hardman is fast as fuck, why would you trade him?

the Jets are stupid. Find a way to use him. Look at Miami - track guys all over the field, gee wouldnt that be nice

Randall Cobb is useless. 137 snaps, 3 catches. Trade him so Hardman can actually play

Who knows if anything is happening behind the scenes, but I don't get why they won't play this guy more. Is he too fast and dynamic for our OC?

Hardman is excellent at the jet sweep "pass/toss" play that is particularly effective in red zone and short yardage situations.

is that play even in Hackett's tired playbook?
Does Randall Cobb on a curl route scare anyone? It is hard to believe Cobb is getting nearly half the offensive snaps. I watch every game and forget he's even out there.

To me this doesn't feel like "can't figure out a way to use him" more than maybe he stopped wanting to be a Jet 4 plays into the season. How would you feel if you signed to play with Aaron Rodgers and all you ended up getting was this?

Edit: It reminds me of Joe and Saleh and Woody all chirping that the Jets are a desirable place to play because of the culture, but all those guys just want to play with Rodgers, this could be the Akron Zips for all they care.

This I agree with 1000%. This is not the first time a WR gets in the dog house with the CS for unknown reasons and never sees the field. This CS does not know how to fit talent to maximize their strengths in lieu of what ever the baseline scheme is.

If that's the case we absolutely picked the wrong person.

    Why trade C
Why trade Cobb since he is our 4th QB!
