How is it possible to buy 43% of a premier league team for only £190m? Did they sell it to Woody with a heavy discount? either way there was a point in my life where I was interested in becoming a Palace fan. Not any more I'm running as fast as I can away from that garbage
Wow, I feel real bad for the fans of that team. That is damn near a fate worse than... The little bastard and his Damian kid have done enough evil to the sports world.
Crystal Palace confirm that Woody Johnson has purchased a 43% stake in the club. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c6282gl2z52o
I don't mean to be a prick about this, but Woody is more suited for ownership of an EPL club. Those exciting relegation matches at the end of the season. Hmph. Maybe I do mean to be a prick about it after all.
The dude is 78 years old is slim, fit appears to be in awesome health. Full of life. He's not retiring he's making billion dollar deals to buy more sports teams. With the Jets luck he'll own the team for d@mn near half a century.
Woody's soccer team Crystal Palace is playing Liverpool today at 10:00 AM on Community Shield Cup. For those of you that don't follow soccer, it is a game between the winners of English Premier League and FA Cup. The two most important soccer tournamenets in England. Well, due to Woody, I will be rooting hard for Liverpool. Fuck Woody and everything he stands for. P.S. Game is on ESPN+ only
Aaaaand…. the Woody Era begins with a win on penalties against the reigning Premier League champions. Which is just about perfect. Christen the season with hope for mid-pack club, and then watch as those poor English bastards slowly devolve into the pitchfork-and-torch stage. I’ma enjoy this.
Palace fans tend to be among the best in the sport ... sadly they have no idea what they're in for. The shitty thing is Palace didn't need to sell because UEFA screwed them anyway and didn't demolish Lyon like they should have. So now their owners sold and they were demoted to the lesser tournament.
