Started hot and then fell off a cliff. The strong end was a little eh. Nice pass to Ruckert for a TD but missed a wide open Hall and the other pass barely went for any yards. The bomb to Taylor was from Martinez I think.

Yeah it was Martinez - nice catch though.

The QB's were in red and there was no tackling. That's a scrimmage. Fun for the players and better than practice for the coaches. Taking it too seriously is silly.

True…but from what I’m reading about the Giants DL it sure feels like it would have been worse if QBs were live tacking

I'm not so sure you can take much from it. Last camp Quinnen was "killing" everyone when they had red jerseys on and he was virtually a non-factor when it mattered.

I disagree. These were very important reps

the offensive line getting beat is a concern, they have looked great all camp but they have been going against the Jets DL, which, idk, could be weak.

The Giants humbling them today shows there is work to be done, especially with QBs in Fields and Taylor who BOTH hang onto the ball too long

I would argue going up against other NFL competition in full pads at full speed, maybe even 3/4 speed because they can’t hit the quarterback and getting completely destroyed is something you should take seriously.

it was just as bad as any reporter on Twitter is making it out to be.

This was to be expected right? Giants Defensive Line is strength and we have a young OL gelling. Even though future might be bright for our OL, current state is not surprising.

Offense as a whole is another story. Don't have much trust in Fields and Tyrod is just to brittle. We still have rest of training camp and we are 1 month away from real games. Get back to work and address weaknesses on and off the field.

I dunno if expected is the right word. I expected to struggle but we looked like a freshman high school team out there. And the one time Fields had time he whiffed on a wide open Hall in the end zone.

So, NYJ fans over-reacting, per usual. Got it.

It wasn't a perfect day but to say the offense was trash all day isn't accurate either. People just want to be right, more than they want this team to win. I swear.

    Respectfully… were you there?

Hot start in 7 on 7s means dick to me. There’s no one coming at you. Getting lambasted in 11 on 11 is bad no matter how you slice it. There want a single part of full team periods that looked like a competent NFL offense.

    I wasn't.

I would trust about anyone else on this board that was there over your opinion though on the matter.

    Just to be clear.

So I was there and saw the same things every beat reporter reported. But my words means squat. Something tells me you just don’t like being told things that don’t jive with your opinion.

Brother. I didn't read one beat reporter coming anywhere close to calling this offense a high school offense. You are over exaggerating by a lot, clearly. Do you though. Please, continue.

where are you seeing these stats? also I don't believe that touchdown would count in a game. He was "sacked" but they dont hit the QB so they let that particular play continue

AG stated it was up and down for both units. He stated there was good and not so good but that is WHY you have join pratices. He also said he wanted to view the tapes to see what needs fixing... he also stated the G- DL was very good.

BTW- Fields is what he is and no matter what AG says about him getting better or him being even keeled, I am not expecting much.

That's okay. It's practice. Some things are supposed to fail, that's how you grow.

    That's my point.
Saying the offense looked like a "high school" team out there. Is just silly.

Also.. I have been scouring the interwebs for hours reading up on it all. The clips that are being put up look purty good too. Seems to me the biggest complaint today from all I've read was that the OL really struggled against that DL. Nobody seems interested in that though, just the overexaggerated things being brought up seem to be the topic of choice.

    All good.

I just think a lot of folks on here kinda see Fields for what he is…a very mediocre QB…not the most accurate, takes a bit too long to process, but has great wheels that can make plays. And for the most part, that’s what we’ve been hearing about in the reports. So the play being reported seems to match in with expectations based on his history. While we are hoping he can become a better QB than he’s been, and it’s possible he can, it just feels like he’s pretty much what he’s been…

But to be fair, I read a lot of the stuff on here before I had a chance to watch that first game against GB and he didn’t look as bad as what I was expecting…so sure there are biases on both sides…

Personally I’m not a huge fan and I think it’s likely he’s going to be what he’s been rather than show some great improvement, but you never know, and as long as he’s our QB I’ll be pulling for him.
