I think if the D plays the way they did last week again this week, the heat will be on Wilks and AG as itshould be. This is their players and scheme and its not viable as presently executed.
This is an un-Jet-fan take, but honestly I'm not that worried. Rodgers was always going to be hyped up like all get out for that game. And the Bills are a wagon offense the way Cook and Allen are playing. It's early in the year. At a minimum I think this defense will be middle of the pack. We'll hold mediocre offenses down and have a chance to win against middling teams. This team is too talented to really be bottom of the barrel. And we have to see what AG can do.
I agree. But the only caveat I’ll put in here is that we need our good players to make impact plays on both sides of the ball. Sauce, Q, Breece, the offensive tackles, Quincy & Sherwood with his brand new contract, Garrett Wilson (I get it’s largely dependent on a QB throwing his way) all need to perform up to their abilities each week.
Yes, they can improve, but we Jet fans have football-PTSD and losses like this past one trigger very bad football memories. We'll see what happens.
It may not seem like it when I get on rants etc. but this is essentially where I am with the entire regime. For those calling for AG and Moog to be fired, 2 games in, well we ALL know that's just frustration talking. We KNOW it's going to take more than 2 games, hell, more than a season but frustration has set in and the ONLY cure for that is winning. We're going to have threads like this and lots of venting because it's just been too long. Johnson has really shit the bed with this franchise. He knows it, we know it and he knows we know it. He has painted himself into a corner and, if AG and Moog DO fail, the fans will be calling for his head. Time will tell. However, even though it doesn't seem like it, I am still hopeful. I'm HOPING AG can channel his stellar playing days and the instant respect he garners as a former player now HC to mold these kids into something that they and we can be proud of. For AG, this year, I'm watching how he learns how to be a HC and the decisions he makes in guiding the team. Sunday is going to be very interesting.
