0-4 and realistically eliminated from playoff contention in Sept is definitely in Kotite and Gase territory, and if coaches are in that territory, it’s not often they claw their way back out of it…yes Campbell did it in Detroit, and they have also been an historically terrible franchise, so maybe it’s possible, but I’m not sold on AG. Mostly because I still see the same stupid penalties and turnovers and folding that we’ve been watching for years, and for all of AG’s bluster, it hasn’t changed a single bit. None of it. Not a good sign
Yeah after seeing last night, I agree. It could be a zero win year. You just can't win games when you no discipline at all, no ball protection and struggle with basic fundamentals. We had 3 1 possession games but they weren't as close as they seemed. This team with actual good coaching and discipline could be 3-1 right now and that's the saddest part. I had hopes that they would turn it around, but I'm seeing no progress at all. Same ol' problems.
Yeah agree The one score thing is interesting…because I agree that the games weren’t as close as the score would indicate. The only game that was true was the first one vs. Pitt…that game we WERE in it. But for both the Bucs and Fins, we were down huge going into the 4th quarter, essentially out of both of those games for most of them, and we only managed to make 4th quarter runs because the other teams’s D laid up. Had both Tampa and Miami continued to play defense in the 4th quarter the way they did for the first 3 quarters, both of those games are double digit losses, and big ones at that. Honestly if I were a fan of either of those teams I’d be a bit pissed at the coaching for playing soft in the 4th quarter and letting a shit team like the Jets actually make a game of it in the end.
Ummm...whoever thinks this team, the way they are playing, are beating the Saints, in their house, is smoking some mighty fine skunk weed. The ONLY POTENTIAL win I see on this schedule is the Panthers. All the Saints have to do is hand off to Kamara the whole game and it's fuckin' over. Personally, after what I've seen these 4 games, I do NOT give the NY Jets even a remote "punchers chance" of coming out of the 2025 season 2-17. This has ONE win, more than likely ZERO wins, season written all over them. As well, you could have Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and Ryan Leaf coming out in the same draft and this turd of an organization would end up with Leaf. Write it down.
We'll be in a head to head battle with the Titans for the #1 overall pick, then AG will order up a 60 yard FG as time expires for a win in the last game of the year....
If Glenn followed thru by cutting all the idiots on the team, we couldn't field 22 guys. This roster is just plain awful and that's on the GM. Bargain shopping for critical talent never works. Neither does overpaying for medium talent. We're at least 2 years away from being relevant if not longer. Hope for the best, but plan on the worst. You'll sleep better..
Not saying you’re wrong, but man I am SO sick and tired of always being a couple years away. It fucking sucks…we totally did a full on tear down and rebuild with JD and Saleh and we never got anywhere….and here we are again
Shrug. I think it's only those guys who were telling us all summer that the Jets were a playoff team that are now going crazy about the reality.
If you own a top-5 pick and the draft were tomorrow, you're either picking defense, trading down, or you're stupid. Could change. In just four weeks, everything has. Here's the top-5 from one preason mock draft. Pretty sure the guy who did it is Al Qaeda or Tren de Aragua, or some such terrorist group: 1. Arch Manning QB 2. Nico Iamleava QB 3. Jeremiah Smith WR 4. Dylan Stewart DT 5. Anthonie Knapp OT Of those five, maybe Smith still cracks the top-5.
Come back in late December and you'll find the same posters here pulling for the Jets to win a meaningless game to take them to 4-13 and moving out of the top 5. But at least they beat a hated division rival in a game no one will ever remember. Fuck yeah...no, that's the definition of insanity.
take Arch off the list the chances of him coming here is the chances of the Jets making the playoffs this year.
My bet is we still win 4 or 5 games this season. Even though I'll concede that looks fairly improbable at the moment.
Would we want him? I know he only has a handful of games under his belt but the reviews aren’t exactly stellar at this point. Seems like the most impressive thing he’s done so far is QB’ing his team to a 1TD loss vs OSU. I guess that loss is enough to keep them ranked in the top 10 because their 3 wins are against terrible teams.
My prediction coming into the year was 5 wins, give or take 1 up or down To me that’s looking optimistic, and so far it looks like the “down” is probably more realistic…not sure how we get to 5 at this this point Remaining games Cowboys at home (their O will shred our D) Denver in London (their D will shut us down) Panthers at them (winnable) Bengals on the road (winnable without Burrow) Browns at home (their D will shut us down) Pats on the road (they are just better and better coached) Ravens on the road (this will be U-G-L-Y) Falcons at home (maybe winnable but I doubt it) Dolphins at home (maybe winnable without Hill but again I doubt it) Jags on the road (they are better all around) Saints on the road (winnable) Pats at home (again, I think they sweep us because Jets) Bills on the road (only winnable if the Bills rest all their key starters) So out of that, I see maybe 5 winnable games (6 if the Bills rest starters)…no way we win all of those games … can we win 3 or 4 of them? Yeah I guess so but not if we keep playing the way we’ve been playing… Early still and so much can change with injuries or momentum, but if I had to update my preseason prediction, I’d maybe go from 5 wins to 4 wins. It’s certainly not going up
