At the rate things are going, I'm predicting either 1-16 or 0-17 this year. There's already speculation that Glenn is on the hot seat and that the struggles are not him being a new head coach, but simply that he doesn't have what it takes. Who should we consider for next year?
I like most of those options. I supported the Glenn hire a ton throughout the offseason and the first 4 games. The effort today was disgraceful especially after they had a fumble fest in Miami last week.
You people need to get this through your heads, the next coach is not on that list. NONE of those names would touch this pile of shit team if they had ANY intentions of being a head coach in the future.
I'd love Harbaugh, but I don't think he's leaving Baltimore. The problem this year has been injuries. I highly doubt the Ravens are going to get rid of him after one bad season when they've been consistently one of the best teams in the league for the past 15+ years under him.
This team only shows up in garbage time, well AG and company, if Glenn doesn't quit at the end of the season, he'll be fired after year 2
And the Titans, Giants, Browns, and Panthers are that much more attractive? We're not the only dumpster fire in this league. Every time we're looking for a new coach, everyone says that nobody is going to come here. And yet, every time, we get a hot coaching prospect. Yes, they haven't worked out, that much is obvious. But Bowles, Saleh, and Glenn were all highly sought after prior to become the HC here. The only one since Rex that wasn't a hot prospect was Gase. Guys want head coaching jobs, that's the long and short of it. Guys want to prove that they can build a team and make them a champion.
If he's available, then Woody needs to line up as many Brinks trucks as he can find in front of his house to get secure his services. Short of that, it needs to be McCarthy. Not that he'd even bother coming to an interview with this pathetic organization.
We need to choose the biggest personality and control freak available to work around whatever fucked-up structural issues that have plagued us for most of the last 50 years. Harbaugh would be first in the building, if available.
I have a feeling this isn't going to be a popular choice because of the similarities to the coach Gase hire. Mike McDaniel? From afar it appears he knows how to put together a modern NFL offense and coaches up his QBs. I don't know what the situation in Miami is why he's on the hot seat. I'm also aware his appearance could be a issue. He doesn't fit the mold of a traditional NFL head coach (or high school coach or college coach).
I think Glenn will certainly get another year at least. On the broadcast they were talking about how it took a few years to turn around the Lions franchise where Glenn was a part of it. Even Kotite got 2 years.
I think you have way too high of an opinion of Woody Johnson if you think Glenn will be fired after one year.
Anybody believing Mike McCarthy and/or Jason Garrett would come in *here*, to a Woody Johnson owned football team, and amount to anything other then complete YES men disasters is being more delusional then they were with the same'ish high turn around hopes they had with a 41yo in decline Aaron Rodgers. Those guys are terrible bad-team-in-NY fits.
He needs to be fired early so they can court any somewhat qualified (and currently on sabbatical) offensive minded coaches. Then look at coaches who are currently in league when the season is over. Embarrassing even by Jets standards.
I'd probably pick Kingsbury of these names. I doubt he'd want anything to do with us though. I just can't do another defensive head coach. Enough of this insanity. We can't keep trying this formula that 90% of the league realized was dumb a decade ago.
