I know you guys don’t care but Vandy just won and son FaceTime’d me during the OT to show me the plays live. What a thriller. I am not sure if it will be enough to get into the playoffs but when was the last time Jets gave me this much thrill I don’t know.
I think he’s absolute garbage. And he’s not coming out this year anyways he’ll get a waiver to go back to school.
If they beat Kentucky and then Tennessee in the finale they really can’t be excluded. 2 loss SEC teams are in the playoffs.
Not so fast. The “playoffs” are about ratings. Vanderbilt doesn’t draw viewers like others in the SEC. There could also be several 2 loss SEC teams
None of the "big" name prospects really move me, so I had a few mins, & looked at a few of the lesser known guys. The one that really stood out to me is Cincinnati's Brendan Sorsby. He's solid, competitive, seemingly unafraid (ie: he runs thru action with his athleticism, rather than away), & has a quick release with touch. The touch thing really impressed. I rarely watch college football, but will be interested in following his progress. Here's one highlight video for anyone interested... Wondering what others think of him? .
I’m not sure why he or Sawyer Robertson (Baylor) don’t get discussed more in draft circles even as second or third round picks but I’d guess it’s because they both play in the one-read Air Raid systems against mostly bad Big 12 defenses. I think I like Robertson a bit more. He’s been better, throws the ball down the field and he lit Auburn up who has a bonafide SEC defense. Sorsby got beaten up by Utah’s defense.
You know how these fringe kids hit the radar? They show up at the Senior Bowl and the all star games. I know nothing about him, do you think he's the kind of guy that would attend those or yet another in a long line of prima donna's that couldn't be bothered to put up or shut up? I don't care where the Jets find their next QB as long as it's a guy worth drafting, regardless of spot. Edit: I watched about half that video. I like his arm control. He's got good strong arm but seems to be able to control his power. That's a feel and something you can't teach. Interesting find! I do hope he goes to one of the all star games, if invited. To show that off with top competition could open some eyes. That and hopefully he stays healthy.
Projected mid-late round picks generally aren’t prima donna’s especially kids like Sorsby & Robertson from south & midwest football country. If the Jets punt on a QB with their first 4 picks, there’s zero excuse to not take a mid round flyer on one of these guys. Taylen Green (Arkansas) is another one and probably the most physically gifted. He’s up there with Sellers as an athletic freak. He has that offense averaging 35 PPG (21st in the country) against an SEC gauntlet schedule.
Absolutely watched that game and was rooting hard for Vandy. Family member went to Auburn and never shuts up about it.
Probably won’t be drafted. Might get a camp invite somewhere and no one will talk about him (and rightfully so since he’s not a real prospect). But he’s awesome and a great story. UConn had a 13-year drought being .500 or better from 2011 to 2024. They didn’t even play any games during Covid and were talking about potentially disbanding the program. Jim Mora gets there. Recruits an unknown FCS kid from Maine named Joe Fagnano and suddenly they win 9 games last year and are trending towards a possible 10 win season this year. He has 25 touchdowns to no interceptions and is second in college football in both touchdowns and yards while throwing to NCAA’s second leading receiver. Can’t even find a full highlight tape so here’s the Duke highlights.
Im a CT guy with a lot of friends who went to and worship UCONN so my Facebook feed is full of this kid. Like you said… won’t get drafted and will probably end up as someone’s QB3 in camp despite having the sexy numbers. But my biggest thing is, could you imagine a kid with that last name ending up in New York? God forbid he has one bad game…
