Met fans, I have a question.

How are your young stud prospects doing? Guys like Sandy Alomar Jr., Ruben Sierra, Moises Alou, and especially Julio Franco. Heard they have real bright futures in the league.

Does Willie think they have a shot at making the 40 Man Roster?

HA! Get it, 40 MAN Roster. Man, I crack myself up.

    That wasn't too bad, Future.

Rub and Sandy won't be making the team, though. If they do, well.

I consider the young stud prospects to be
Fernando Martinez - 18 years old and already 6feet1 inch and 198 lbs and hit a ball 440 feet yesterday in Florida bb and a certain number 1 OVERALL pick if he was be picked now
    - Carlos Gomez - 20 years old and considered one of the top outfield prospects in baseball -
Tony Pena's son, a catcher , 17 years old who they say is a better catcher than his father and hits like Johnny Bench
    of course, Lastings Milledge
pitchers - Mike Pelfrey, Phil Humber, Kevin Mulvey, Joe Smith
and of course - Jose Reyes and David Wright, both under 25 years of age.

    I already like Alou. Alot.

Mets Alou: light beer is key
Mets OF Moises Alou doesn't credit any miracle diet or magic elixir for his ability to remain one of the game's most accomplished hitters at the age of 40, according to NEWSDAY.
He doesn't scarf down egg whites by the dozens like Julio Franco. Or run beyond the brink of exhaustion like Orlando Hernandez.
His secret? Alou counts the calories on the side of a 12-ounce can.
"I drink light beer," he said.

When I checked last week the best available seats for the opener pack were like section 35 and up and row M and up. Ridiculous.

I bought a 13 game Sunday plan assuming a) that I would be able to get rights to tickets in the new stadium if I kept it through next year and b) that I would get a presale option for all non-Yankee games, like last year. A month after I bought the pack I'm told that I have neither privilege, and now my friends and I are all shut out of the lottery. What a horrible system. Some jackass with a passing interest in baseball could win the lottery, while I (who used to sleep out at Shea to get opening day and Yankees) get screwed over.

Hate to rain on everyone's parade, but you should get used to this sort of unavailability of tickets. The Mets are hoping to push 4 million in attendance this year, and the people have to sit somewhere. And don't forget, Citi Field will have about 7000-10000 fewer seats than Shea has (depending on how you count).
