MD has never really played a traditional 3-4 though. Starks is more of a penetrating tackle, and he is insanely young, I believe he entered the NFL at the age of 20 after leaving MD as a junior.

Very strong though, he'd be suited to play 3-4 End, not NT though.

how is it possible for a guy with a 7 yr, 50mil. contract to make 10 million in only ONE season? he still has 3 years left on his contract.

fox says he made only 1 mil. last season. he will make 2.4 million next season and and 6 million in 2008

facts are facts. USA today isnt gonna lie to make D rob look bad.

  9. Surely you should know stats hold very limited value in terms of a DT's role. I'm not gonna sit here and argue w/ you about who's better b/c obviously you openly hate d rob..and secondly believe stats are the determining measure.

The bottom line is, Id love to have Starks as a 3-4 DE..but i do not see him as an NT.

fair enough.. but lets not act like D rob is some kind of special talent. to sit there and say starks isnt on d robs talent level is a joke.

right. d-rob was probably the only top 5 pick the past 5 years then because i cant see any other top 5 pick make that kind of money (palmer signed a new contract). where is terence newman? charles rogers? jonathan sullivan? kevin williams? leftwich? jordan gross?

Assuming this trade goes through... Starks would be brought in strictly for depth or to compete for DE with Coleman?

considering the money they gave coleman, i'd assume theyre thinking of him as a starter....then again, what do i know?

Starks isn't a NT type. He's a 3technique DT, as others have stated. I don't think we should pursue him.

carson palmer signed a new contract last season. andre johnson just re-signed his contract. you're right about charles rogers though. the only reliable source would be nflpa.org but you cant look up their salaries anymore i believe. fox still says d-rob made only 1 million last season...

I would give up a 3rd round pick for him in a heartbeat... To play DE anyway.
