agreed with lots of the above posters, dropping dyson is useless, unless you are picking up he next larry allen for him. And since i doubt any of the best guards in the league would be available for Andre Dyson....

so in removing Dyson, you also hurt Revis, how?? because He loses a mentor.

We need Dyson for more than just what he has left in the tank. unless you we get something way unexpected for him, we should keep him, bring in vincent and let Bender,Vincent, Clarke battle it out.

I'd only do it for Justin Smiley...I think Br4w4y said it...He's 25, and can be molded into a good player...And trading Dyson to the NFC West does us no harm, and it'd be make sense for Frisco to have a CB opposite of Clements...

I'd like to keep Dyson, but if it's for Smiley, i'd be OKAY with it.

Revis is going to have a Vilma/Leon type rookie year.

But dyson is a good player, so it would have to be VERY good value if they are going to deal him. I hate to lose him, because he is so reliable, but Miller was having a really good camp before he got hurt in the closed scrimmage.

But if it isnt a guard at least of the same quality player as Dyson, fuggedaboutit.

Dre' Dyson and a 4th for Alan Faneca? Hates how he didn't get extended, doesn't want to be a team captain, doesn't want to be back in Pittsburgh, and is a free agent next season...

Doubtful, but their have been alot more bullshit trades on this board than that.

I'll reserve judgment until I know what the return on Dyson is. I'd like Dyson to remain on the Jets, but if the guard coming back is a player, then I'm all for it. With that said, I don't think Dyson has enough value to get back a guard that can make the difference that one of our top corners is worth.

We have a defense that has a hellish time putting pressure on QB's. The saving grace is the that we have a solid set of DB's. For the Jets to even consider moving Dyson they must be scared out of there skulls about the prospect of Bender starting on the line.

I'd support a move if we're bringing in a young guy that we can lock up somewhat long term. As others have stated CB's are more valuable then OG's so that would seem to dictate that we'd be getting pretty good value in return if a trade does happen.

They also must think the world of Revis already if they'd be willing to shop Dyson before the season even starts.

Good Lord. You will only trade a slightly above average CB for a future HOFer guard?!?!?! There are only a handful of players that are untradeable and Dyson is not one of them. If Tangini thinks Dyson is on the downside of his career and can get good value, you do it. I have no idea if this is real or not, but I do know Tangini will not make a bad deal.

If they are giving up Kendall and dyson this summer, and getting back a guard and a conditional fourth, the FO hasnt done so well. (Unless the dude really is a future HOFer- then it is acceptable)

The FO is a joke really. They give up Kendall and have no clue who will be playing guard to start the season in a week. Now they desperately try to trade for one and whoever they get won't be worth what they give up to get them.

    What is desperate?

If you can give up Dyson for Smiley, you do it...If you can give Dyson and a 4th for Faneca, you do it...

    If not, he stays...Relax Donald.

And who plays guard. Did you watch last weeks' game? Pennington will be killed by NE in week one with that line as it is.

He had an awesome year, but him in the Nickel is where he is better suited...

Don, if Dyson stays, then you just roll with Bender week 1...Not exactly nice that he will be up against Wilfork and Ngata the 1st two works.

And don't forget Thomas coming around Ferguson from the outside. They will never stop all of them which means needing two backs in to try and slow them down.

I'd love to see a more reputable source than the Asbury Park Press before I start jumping off any cliffs over this one...

The Penny Saver was reporting the same thing. It was right between the cat lady and the ad for seniors pancake breakfast at our lady of perpetual motion.
