    Per rotoworld...

League insiders tell the NY Daily News that "its looking more and more like" the Jets will take Darren McFadden with the No. 6 overall pick. He'd of course have to be there, but the smart money is on McFadden not being a top-five pick because of off-field concerns. The Jets are expected to use this draft to upgrade their overall team speed. McFadden would be a start.

Not that beggars can be choosers...but....if it came down to HB's...I like Mendenhall better....less baggage, and still a tonne of talent.

Ok, His off-field controverserys were blown out of porportion. He got in a little tussle so what.

He's a great player and I think if we took him, we'd trade LW or TJ for more draft picks.

League insiders can be wrong, I think the Raiders will take Run DMC. Gholston is the guy we need. Pace has potential to be good. Gholston could be the best at his position.

If we were to draft DMC, he would likely take a step back and play a much smaller role this year but still see some carries and will be split out on certain occasions. Come next year we will be rid of Thomas Jones and he can step back into the #2 role. Then we can enjoy these 2 wreaking havoc on opposing defenses for the next 8-9 years.

He's not that good at RUNNING BACK. If he wasn't a Jet no one would care about him.
He can't carry the load. He's a good 3rd down back, and a Pro Bowl caliber RETURN MAN. He'll stay in New York because of those skills.

If we're serious about getting speed, we draft McFadden in the first round and Chris Johnson in the second round. That'd add some explosiveness to the offense.

Win-Win situation. We take McFadden, great. We tell people we are taking McFadden and trade the pick away, great. The Raiders take McFadden and we get Gholston, great. Gholston and McFadden are gone by #6, shit!

I pray that Al Davis pulls the trigger on McFadden. Bad pick, all the way.

Not gonna happen. Too many character concerns and I agree that Mendenhall and Stewart are prolly better.

These "insiders" crack me up. Do they really think the scouting process is over and they already know who they want to take?

I smell something very similar. There is no reason to 'BROADCAST' the intention at the draft day this early, unless you want to make some people (Jerry Jones?) feel uncomfortable. I see either the Jets taking Gholston, or trading down.

Evidently, McFaddden suffers from the same thing.

I was against taking McFadden until we tore up Free Agency the way we did. Now I'm leaning toward taking him... he's the impact player we need who would bring immediate results. Of course, then we'd have to pay him and I don't know how much we've got left after all this spending. I guess a lot depends on unloading DRob and freeing up that capital too.

If we leaked that we want McFadden, then we're definitely not getting him.

    Leon Washington = Bruce Harper

McFadden is too similar, if the Jets are going to draft a RB it should be a starting RB but the Jets won't really need one until about next year. OT, CB, WR, S, or a pass-rushing OLB/DE to pair with Pace are the top needs for now.

If I was a GM, I would say I was interested in him also. It only makes teams that pick after you more interested in making a deal for that pick if they are worried you are going to take him if available.

Whatever we do, we're in a pretty good place with all the moves we've made in F/A. I'm excited as hell now about what we can do in the draft!

I dont think they'll pick him for similar reasons why they passed on Leinart:

they dont like the flaws in his game, and he is prone to off-field distractions.
