Well oiled, huh? Are they lubing up for the many, many rapes they're going to experience this season? The dryness must have sucked that season.

how're the Jet fans the ones being sick? The Raiders are the ones getting "raped" week in and week out. Mr.E was just making a valid observation.

Really not following the point your trying to make.
Listen wouldn't you agree IF you were running the football consistantly well. You would get alot of third and shorts. Now you get alot of third and shorts thats not going to drop your average yards per attempt alot. Raiders for all there sucess on the ground really never broke any big runs last year.

    Here is the stats. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...nType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Find
Show me the point your making.

Yeah, we got "raped" 12 times last year and you were made love to by a hillbilly from behind 12 times last year.

    sad but true.

However..not trying to sound like the ultimate homer or anything...but this year, we'll be the "rapers"....while you guys will continue to bump uglies with those backwoods hillibillies....on you way to a top 5 draft pick in 2009

You have a lot of rushing yards and are high in rushing yards because you run the ball more than every team except 4 in the league. The reason you do that is because your passing game sucked. Now if you really had a good running game you would have an above average YPC but you don't you are about 11th and really a mid pack team in YPC. You also don't score in the red zone on the ground at a particularly good rate averaging a very mediocre 18th. Really good running teams like MN, Philadelphia, Denver and Jacks have a high average per carry. You are also average at 1st downs running the ball and in 3rd down conversions running the ball. I'm not saying you were bad but if you were a real good running team, you would expect that to help the passing game more than it did, score more than it did, produce more 1st downs than it did, produce a bigger 1st down % than it did.

4.1 YPC 11 TDS and 111 1st downs is not great rushing production it's okay. You run the ball more than average not because you have a dominate running game, but because you were among the worst teams in the league passing the ball and ran the ball a ton to compensate for it.

The league also favors the passing game today because of the rules. Being high up in rushing attempts while not producing scores or victories doesn't mean squat.

I really don't think so but that's why they play the games. In truth both teams have a pretty equal amount of queston marks in my admittedly biased opinion. Maybe you guys should hope for a top 5 pick so you can end the Pennington/Clemens charade.

I like this idea, i would like to see Jeaux's analysis of th 31 other teams. i think it would be fascinating and enlightening. Tell me that wouldn't be a huge pile of awesome in an epic thread.

This time its all gonna be different (analysts say so)
Every year Raider have potental to be #1 (I put longer sentences in parentithesis than i do in my initial sentences)

  12. Why the hell do we even need this thread?

Why does there constantly have to be missing matches between the raiders and jets. At this time..neither are anything but teams w/ alot to prove who dont even play in the same division.

What is your problem raiderjoe, as to why you feel the constant need to compare the raiders to the jets? WHY?

An attempt to prevent every new Jets related thread from turning into a thread exactly like this one. Consider it raiderjoe's personal sandbox. He can fling sand around and gnaw on plastic shovels all he wants.

The Raiders could quite possibly be the biggest joke in the NFL. How many times am I gonna have to say this!??!? BEING 6TH IN RUSHING DOESN'T MEAN SHIT WHEN YOU FINISH THE SEASON 4-12!

And weren't we like 9th against the pass last season? I honestly am not that worried about the 2nd CB spot. David Barrett and Justin Miller look to be solid, nothing spectacular there.

Comeon your not serious yards per carry - what that means is some team runnimng backs had alot more long runs, that attributed to those Yards per carry to be alot higher.

With explosive weapon like D Mcfadden whose capable of going the distance anytime he touches the football- watch how much higher the Raiders yards per average.

Also red zone efficiency is not valid arguement because if you get alot of penalties(pushed back) and turn it over in Red Zone of course your rushing totals are going to be way off.

Again with a threat oF Mcfadden coming out of backfield and the hammer M Bush watch how those rushing numbers(tds) go way up for the Raiders this year. (in the redzone)

The fact is raiders weren't a very good passing team last year, they still move the ball consistantly on the ground. Thats with teams loading up to stop the run. (quitew impressive in my book)

Last point Raiders had the sixth best rushing offense according to the NFl. You can spin it anyway you want. You think Jets running game going to produce better numbers than Raider. Put your money where your mouth is. Raiders proved olast year it didn't matter who they put behind their Oline, trhey were going to have sucess moving the football.

Al Davis has run the team into the ground, get that polysweatsuit wearin mini me a job. Or better yet for me continue to let him be in control that way I'm ensured da fader will ALWAYS draft poorly, pick up FAs who can't help and will always get beat by Denver,SD,KC(in your own division ) shall I go on. Man in 2008 get some new threads, ideals, build highrises, help the economy, something, come out of the dark ages please. I have hatred toward da faders can U tell?

Kerry Rhodes doesn't have to run to keep up with McFadden, he can just cover him with his dick!

You asked me to explain why I don't think the Raiders are a great running team, I did. I never indicated anywhere that the Jets would out rush the Raiders. The Jets have a very mediocre running back in Jones, he's a workhorse but far from a top NFL running back. We have a good change of pace back in Washington but sadly he doesn't get the carries he should because he is needed on special teams. None of that has anything to do with your over rating of every aspect of your team for years now. The Raiders are among the worst teams in football, far worse than the Jets over the last 5 years something you would never own up to. Again you over weight talent and under weight organization. You also vastly over rate the talent. The combination of over rated talent with a dysfunctional organization is the reason the Raiders basically have sucked the last 5 years.

Betting by the way is based on odds. The odds are that your argument, as poorly as you articulate it, is one day going to come true. The question is does one in a million times right continue to fuel your poorly stated argument? Based on the overwhelming purchase of lottery tickets by people who can't afford to feed their families, my bet would be affirmative. It's also the reason that the Raiders still have hard core fans like you regardless of the reality. Hope by fans has kept more crummy sports franchises going than any amount of championships. That's why a Jets fan and a Raiders fan are having this entirely stupid argument in the first place. Act like a man once in awhile and accept the reality of your team. It will be that much sweater when they actually perform above your expectations, something that is virtually impossible at the moment.
