I went with #60 Larry Grantham. Because he's a skinny b*stard and he kicked ass.

It has to be Larry Grantham or Mo Lewis.

The Sporting News Pro Football '08 annual includes the top 3 linebackers for each team's history.
For the Jets the selections were-
    1. Lewis
    2. Grantham
    3. Greg Buttle

I went with Grantham here, but would also like to give a shout out to Kyle Clifton. I loved Clifton!

Larry Grantham, and it's not close. For details, see my sig. (I will also add that he is on the second team All-AFL team.)

I think it's btw Mo and Grantham, if Mehl could have stayed healthy I think it would have been him but I give the nod to MO. Unfortunately the 1st 6 years of his career were wasted when we were horrible but he finally got the recognition he deserved after the turnaround in '97.

The problem is with these silly polls/surveys is most of the board never saw the NYJs of the 60s ever play making this whatever totally worthless since they vote for players they did see play

champ, give them reasons to vote for players of the 60s. Like why do you think they were the best?

So Atkinson is the best in your opinion.

I think you have a lot to bring to the table if you were less one-dimensional.

Vilma was the best at making tackles five yards downfield. Champ has the stats to prove it. No wait. Nevermind.

Not me. My people worship Stan Blinka.

I am aware some have a pretty unhealthy obsession with Vilma, to the point of making up stories about him, though.

Well, technically, none of those guys is a NYJ any longer. But you know I'm just busting your balls. He probably is overrated, but, you know, some of us can't help but root for our Jets, tragically flawed though they may be.

I have a question for you and the oldtimers. I can't speak about Grantham, having never seen him play, but I'd agree, he should win this poll based on accomplishments. My question is, what happened to that '68 team? It looks like they were really only good for that season and the next, and then it all fell apart, never to come back. Maybe you could say the '67 season as well, but, just from looking at the records, it doesn't look like they were dominant that year.

Age, injuries, locusts? How'd these guys fall?
